My GOTY is a cross between Slay the Spire 2 and Fortune’s Weave. Both games have given me over 100 hours of enjoyment, and really build off their predecessors in interesting ways.

I really love the lore, characters, and emphasis on diversity in setting and design. The music is top notch and the gameplay is extremely fun and satisfying. I also appreciate the game from a technical standpoint, merging routes and having the ability to min/max (IF YOU WANT) gives a lot of freedom

My biggest issues just stem from how repetitive things can get, mostly due to animation screens. I hope Nintendo can patch some of these out with an options button. The DLC routes will also fill in some holes in the story, but I don’t feel their exclusion takes away from from the game

My brain says StS2 but my heart says FW. Sure, it has too much bloat at times but its really the first Switch 2 game I have given days of my life to. Seeing all the routes interweave and how gameplay shifts from classic FE to a wargame in its final act is very ambitious even if it stumbles.

You cannot tell me Nintendo has gotten more soulless since the Wii U era when said games from that era looked like this. Not to mention that bringing Iwata into these discussions has always been disrespectful.

linuxnerd@loonerlinuxnerd.bsky.social

Still freaks me the hell out. It's tragic that Nintendo has become a soulless shell of what it was until Iwata passed.

I’ve been playing Roadhog for 10 years, and his rework his interesting. I see the vision behind it and have gotten into the hang of using his new abilities, but there is still a lot that needs to be ironed out in terms of animations/gamefeel.

The most annoying part of playing hog is all the counterswaps. Orisa isn’t that hard to fight but she has SO many annoying cooldowns you have to keep track of. Same with Sigma.

please stop replying to game devs saying things like "well look on the bright side those laid off devs can start their own indie studios now" because eventually one of us is going to snap and "WITH WHAT FUCKING MONEY" would be a shitty last thing to hear before you die

I love how video game Ryu is characterized by discipline and self motivation, while movie Ryu hat to rely on the connections of his friends to not succumb to the Satsui No Hado. There is a heavily focus on Ryu and Ken’s brotherly bond, which echoes a lot of what I love about fighting games.

The movie shows how much they need each other and how they are equals. Akuma represents how lonely and isolating it is to live or “fight” by yourself. You need the casual sparring, the laidback days where you goof off and fight to fight. No local is defined by the results but the people you meet!

The Street Fighter is probably one of my favorite video game adaptations I have seen. I’ve never seen a movie simultaneously take the piss out of itself while being an earnest attempt at trying to capture all the ridiculous parts of the franchise I love. (Got some cool pins for free)

Beyond that though Street Fighter is such a fun time. So many scenes had me laughing. The musical motifs are also really great and the set/costumes are fantastic. I just felt so giddy watching it.

Whoever came up with the idea to have the flashbacks be animated deserves a raise. The brotherly bond between Ryu and Ken is at the heart of the movie and I’m so happy the movie leaned into it. My only criticism is that the movie is overtly sexual in really strange ways.

Like, there are so many weird feet jokes in a movie without Juri. Plus there is a lot of homoerotic tension played for laughs that feels out of character. M. Bison sniffing Chun Li’s foot (yes that happens) is so out of left field 💀

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave ass movies

Sony is considering releasing all 4 ‘BEATLES’ biopics on the same day in April 2028. Another idea being considered is offering a 4-pack of tickets to encourage fans to buy tickets to all 4 films at once. (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)

Epic “Programming is hard” Games Genuinely an unhinged thing to say as a software company

new Epic Games Launcher in preview - "Programming is hard. So, instead of doing that, we vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher that’s way faster and more responsive than the current one, and has a new look." store.epicgames.com/news/epic-ga...

I firmly believe this statement is dumber than that EA comment talking about “pride and accomplishment” Have pride in your work and employees!!

Exclusive first images for 2D animated sequences from the ‘STREET FIGHTER’ movie. All of Ryu & Ken's flashbacks throughout the film are told through hand-drawn 2D animation by Titmouse.

Mario suffers a lot from Superman syndrome where people think he is boring because he is a kind and wholesome character. There is no smug cynicism to his design or personality. He is a jolly blue collar worker who loves life. Mario is whimsy! Mario is joy! Mario is!

Supper Mario Broth@mariobrothblog.bsky.social

In the Mario Teaches Typing games, Mario never criticizes the player for underperforming and tries to be understanding and supportive. According to Charles Martinet, that was his initiative, as he felt being negative would go against the core principles of Mario's character.

I wanna see Fortnite end with Mario being the progenitor of all of video games. I need a Doomsday Clock scenario where Mario saves Geno. Have Geno split his essence across the multiverse for good and everyone gets their own Mario.

I had never met a dog as wistful as King. At first I mistook his demeanor for aloofness, but there was a sense of peace behind his gaze. It would be silly to refer to a dog as a dreamer, since the moment is the whole world to them. However, when I looked into King’s eyes, I understood.

I haven’t played a game this religiously in a long time. Fortune’s Weave is my favorite Switch 2 game so far. It has a lot of filler but its actually a bit nice to have pace breaks playing Hard/Classic. It took me 30 hours to do 1 route, 15 for the second.

With that Jacob Geller shit why is it reformation is only applicable to men who have assaulted women and have a significant platform that could exploit that dynamic, maybe prioritising the comfort of a guy who raped previously shouldn’t be prioritised over the safety and welfare of women lol

This sucks for many reasons. But I think it's worth emphasizing how selfish and duplicitous it is to go work with a public-facing, community-focused media org like MinnMax without disclosing this part of your past to them. (MinnMax confirmed to me they were not told.) Please support them if you can

I think its kinda based Nintendo has never collaborated with Fortnite out of sheer stubborn with its IP. Its rare to see a company these days not fold at the sight of briefcases of cash. I’m not saying Nintendo isn’t greedy or deceitful, but still have that old school mentality, good or bad.

The fact that Mario, one of the most ubiquitous characters ever made, is an impossible dream collab for many is hilarious to me. The newest season of Fortnite feels extremely weird without him. Its like if you made a Justice League without Superman or Batman.

If you removed any of these games out of my life, I honestly believe my life would be different.

7. A coming of age story that really impacted me as I had just started middle school. Also my first Zelda games. 8. Overwatch is the only one out of these I still actively play. It got me into PC gaming and FPS games in general. I love the lore, characters, and most of all the gameplay.

9. People hate on Smash 4 but if you were there during the hype cycle it was amazing. Playing on a 3DS was incredible and defined my high school years. My friends and I would play every lunch period with little to no breaks. I’m not kidding when I say my life would be different if it never released.

1. Literally the first game I ever played. One of the best 2D platformers ever made, easy to replay and iconic. 2. I love how surreal and dreamlike 64 is. Such an interesting way to use a 3D hub world, and its abstract level designs have never escaped me.

3. My fav game of all time. 4. I was at the right age to experience MGS3 for the first time. 5. The world building is genuinely inspired and captivating. 6. One of the finest gameplay experiences of any game I have played. One of the few campaigns I’ve played 5+ times just for the gameplay.
