Would you like to borrow an adaptive bike from Adaptive BIKETOWN? We can coordinate adaptive bikes for those who are living with a disability or who can't ride the traditional 2-wheeled bikes.

We'll be using the AARP Bike Audit Tool Kit to identify unsafe streets, gather and document needed information and observations, and then advocate for solutions to make streets safer for all users. This clinic was funded in part by a grant from @aarp.org #AARPCommunityChallenge

We love putting on the Clackamas County Safe Routes to School Poster Contest! You can see the winners of the 7th Annual Contest now displayed through January 2027 in the Development Services Building on the Oregon City Red Soils Campus.

Selected designs — like the ones our Clackamas County SRTS Coordinator, Nicole, is holding here — were made into yard signs for school communities to encourage safe travel in areas around schools.

This clinic was funded in part by an @aarp.org Community Challenge grant. It is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which supports the efforts of cities, towns, neighborhoods and rural areas to become great places to live for people of all ages.

The latest report from Portland's City Administrator show an alarming trend... Traffic deaths this year are up 44% with 36 people killed in traffic violence so far this year, compared with 25 at this time last year and 38 in 2024.

Motorcycle deaths have doubled, while pedestrian, bicyclist, & micromobility-user deaths have increased from 2025. This report underlines the urgency for the city & state to continue adding safety infrastructure to our streets, especially in North & East Portland most of the high crash corridors are

We recently delivered another few dozen lightweight ebikes through @thestreettrust.org 's Ride2Own program. This was the first youth-oriented group; these Parkrose high schoolers will log a year's worth of ebike use to help show that public ebike subsidies really change transportation patterns!

International Walk and Roll to School Day was a success! So many folks joined us. Looking out for each other and building community! Let's do this every day! #Tigard

The Street Trust's VERY FIRST Ride2Own e-bike program for youth started last week, and we're thrilled to be providing this low-carbon, more cost-effective, and safer transportation option to young people in the Parkrose neighborhood.

Through our partnership with the PATHfinder Club, this group of youth who have been impacted by incarceration, detention, and deportation will receive an e-bike, essential gear, safety education and opportunities for group rides.

This past Friday's Alice Awards was a blast, honoring our awardees, seeing old friends, getting ready for the upcoming 2027 legislative session, and raising the resources we'll need to get more people safely walking, biking, rolling, & taking transit! Thank you to all who attended & contributed!

"Childhood joy and freedom are the fire in my 🔥work" I received the Alice Award from @thestreettrust.org and got to celebrate with many of the people who have supported and inspired me from leading a bike 🚲 🚂 to starting a safe routes to school program to the Hood River E-bike Library.

Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost (TCNF) have represented cyclists and pedestrians for decades, helping make Oregon’s roads safer through advocacy and precedent-setting legal work. We’re honored to have TCNF as partners in the pursuit for safe streets and transportation justice.

They are integral to continuing the Alice Awards as 2026 Transit Leader sponsors. Thank you @TNCF for your unwavering support of multimodal and active transportation! 🙌

🦺 Portland City Councilor Tiffany Koyama Lane has made ending traffic violence traffic on Portland's streets a priority and lead the effort to pass a resolution reaffirming Portland's commitment to Vision Zero last year.

🌟 Shout out to our Safety Beacons! We are exactly a week away from the Alice Awards. But we wouldn't be here if it weren't for our 2026 Safety Beacon sponsors. Their support helps provide the resources to advocate for bicyclists, Safe Routes to School, and transit.

Everyone who travels in or through Portland likely already knows the next 5 weeks will see a big disruption to traffic patterns as a large section of I-5 South is closed for repairs.

Our Interim CEO, Lindsay Huber, explained some of the ways the closure will effect bicyclists & pedestrians to KATU: "More congestion & unfamiliar traffic patterns can create additional safety challenges, particularly on these streets that were not designed to function as freeway detours."

Nsilo is the lead author of the 2026 Traffic Safety Report that brings critical attention to the transportation-related health inequities experienced by Black, African American, immigrant, and refugee communities in Multnomah County, particularly in North and East Portland.
