The actual problem is 1) Democrats have popular policies but the country never hears about them due to right-wing propaganda; 2) Democrats constantly blame themselves and their base for this —a message right-wing media amplifies, making the problem even worse.

i think not unrelated to this is that the dems are steadily becoming the party of the professional-managerial class and are incredibly embarrassed about this. this of course mirrors the pmc itself, which instead of achieving class consciousness has achieved "class neuroticism"

saying 'Democrats need to talk like normal people' and 'not like we're in a college seminar' and so on & so on has ALSO become a thinly-veiled way of chastising Dem leadership for giving a fraction of a fuck about marginalized people so it raises suspicion, even if the real underlying point is good

Why is it always the Presidency? Why can’t they do this for like a Governors race first?

You know what would be really fucking transformative in 2026? Electing statehouses in Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania that will join the Interstate Popular Vote Compact, and designate their EC to the outright winner of the popular vote. That’s a better use of resources than navel gazing at 2028

Just went to vote in Ohio. This was a midterm primary and I stood in line to vote. Numbers in Ohio (Every primary really) will be a critical “tell” on how this midterm goes. If Dems turn out to vote in Dem primaries then that bodes well for the midterms in my opinion.
