Climateflation is making food more expensive and changing what many families can afford to eat. As shocks become more frequent, these price increases could become part of the normal cost of living. #ThisIsClimateChange

There’s a disaster brewing right under our feet, but hardly anyone is talking about it. We’re running out of drinking water, and climate change and this year's Super El Niño is making it worse. Check out the details here. #ThisIsClimateChange

The AMOC is a little understood ocean current that controls the push-and-pull of water currents from north to south, ensuring heat is properly dispersed across the globe. Recently, the system has been slowing down and it could take the entire global weather system along with it.

The intense storms, fires and flooding we are experiencing today doesn't have to be our tomorrow. We can make better choices for how we power our world and live our lives. Let's start now.

The catastrophic flooding in Nepal and the Grand Canyon shows that we are living in a different era, where the climate we have always known can suddenly become deadly. But it doesn't have to be this way, if we wake up.

Earlier this summer smoke from Canadian wildfires pushed the air quality in many U.S. cities off the charts. Now fires in Nevada are the source of smoky skies. Do you know how bad all this smoke is for your health? Watch this to find out. #ThisIsClimateChange

Do you feel like you are stuck in a nightmare? Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated near Reno, Nevada due to wildfires. Many of these people lost their homes while over 15,000 acres continue to burn. #ThisIsClimateChange

Heat isn’t just unpleasant, it’s deadly. Extreme heat is worse than all other natural disasters combined and it’s nearly impossible to hide from. What do we do when extreme heat becomes the norm? #ThisIsClimateChange

Wildfires, heat, floods, and parasites have left many of us feeling extremely overwhelmed in recent weeks. How do we find time to fight climate change in the face of dealing with climate change? It’s no easy task but your actions matter, big or small. Start here. ITM.earth

65,000 people were evacuated from Spokane, WA as wildfires rip through the county. Firefighters are battling the flames, but high heat, strong winds and dry vegetation are making containment difficult. Over 2.6 million acres burned as the region suffers through its worst wildfire season in 30 years.

What do we do with a world on fire? Once again, this week is filled with extreme weather, and due to climate change everyone is getting the weather they don’t need — and in large quantities. We have all the top stories and ways to join the fight at ITM.earth.

As much as 5-10" of rain has fallen across eastern and central New York—including along the I-87 corridor and around Albany. Let's take a short walk through this weather event, making sure we put all the puzzle pieces together for this excessive rainfall event 🧵

What if it's always this hot? It may seem like a disaster movie, but we’re reaching that point faster than you think. Watch this video to see where these events can strike and who is most at risk. #ThisIsClimateChange

Thousands of wildfires spread across Europe with more than 320,000 people evacuated. France and Spain have been hit the hardest with hundreds of thousands of acres destroyed. Extreme rain followed by extreme heat created an enormous amount of dry brush to fuel these fires. #ThisIsClimateChange

NEW: Big Oil and Gas created the myth that natural gas is "clean" — despite knowing the health and climate harms of methane decades earlier than previously reported. A major CCI investigation exposes how the gas industry deceived the public and policymakers into believing gas is a climate solution.

Is your thermometer lying to you? The temperature outside may be much hotter than you think. When heat and humidity combine, they create a new temperature that not only feels suffocating, but can be deadly too.

Months of collective action from organizers, lawyers at @earthjustice.org, and storytelling from The Years Project has finally paid off … Air Products is canceling its ammonia plant in #CancerAlley, built on the top of enslaved burial sites! Watch our piece on the fight, and the legacy of this land.

A federal court ruled that groups in #CancerAlley can proceed with a lawsuit seeking a moratorium on new toxic plants in two majority Black districts. The case argues current land policies are a vestige of slavery and violate the 13th & 14th Amendments earthjustice.org/orangegrove @earthjustice.org

Rainfall is becoming more destructive than ever, but not for the reasons you think. It’s not the amount of rain, but how fast it’s falling. It’s called “rainfall intensification” and it’s happening in every state. #ThisIsClimateChange

As we witness the effects of climate change, many of us are mourning the loss of ecosystems and ways of life we know and love. Grieve the changing world, then get to work building a better future at ITM.earth.

France, Spain and Italy are experiencing record-high temperatures and under heat emergencies. Some predict this heat wave to be worse in severity than one that hit the region in 2003 and resulted in 70,000 deaths. #ThisIsClimateChange

Hail storms have been out of control. Giant hail storms have ripped through the U.S. Midwest and Western Europe, causing billions of dollars in damages. Studies show that as the planet warms, storms become more intense and hail becomes far larger and far more destructive. #ThisIsClimateChange

Atlanta was just hit with major flash flooding, but the damage will be anything but brief. With much of the city underwater, recovery could take weeks. Climate change is making flash flooding events more powerful and longer lasting than ever before. #ThisIsClimateChange
