oh hey, an ACTUAL threat to women's sports!

ICE abducted a WBB player while she was traveling with her Kentucky State team in early August at Louisville airport. She has been imprisoned for 1.5 months and denied care for a serious ACL injury. It is the responsibility of universities and the NCAA to protect their players. They have failed.

Even from a purely national pride perspective, this requires you to think that the 100 year period from 1926 was a failure for the United States, instead of the zenith of its power, prosperity, and influence

The same Republicans who were hysterical when asked to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID19 have no problem wearing masks to spread their White Nationalist Christian hatred.

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

the current director of national intelligence is a guy who two years ago received a trophy declaring he “Fucks Only The Young” at an (oddly dildo focused) event he organized dedicated to the conspiracy that Bed Bath and Beyond never actually went bankrupt

Still just love the NBA on NBC broadcasts. Yes, I’m a child of the 90s so there is some nostalgia, all true. But it just feels like an important event in a way that TNT and ESPN just never have been able to really convey.

Seriously though, who is Johnson trying to reassure here? Certainly not Trump, who does not give a hit. Not his caucus. And it’s not like he nor his caucus worry what their constituents think about it. Why is he even still doing the Sunday shows?

“This is not to say, however, that David Sacks has no influence in the Trump administration: […] still a billionaire CEO, which is a better credential in Trump’s eyes than any kind of expertise.” Brutal, but fair, and explains a lot of what is wrong with the US these days.

I’m 6-4 and wear a size 16 (US) shoe. Try flying commercial or buying clothes (both are hell and/or expensive.) The only advantage I have is reaching for items on the upper shelves of grocery stores (for which my assistance is requested at least once per month.) The world is built for 5-9, 5-10 max.

I'm 6-2/187cm, so take with grains of salt, short people, but: you don't want to be us. You know who's tall? The Dutch. Croatians. Odd people. We ache, we creak. You want to be 5-10, 5-11

No seriously, how can the Prime NBA broadcast audio still be so fucked this late into the post-season?? Why do they refuse to acknowledge the existence of the center channel? (Otherwise the broadcasts are great. Kevin Harlan is my spirit animal.)

My youngest daughter (age 16) has now finally watched The Shawshank Redemption, and she enjoyed it. I’m basically done parenting now, right? This thing is a wrap and I did good?

My Seahawks are for sale, and I’m kinda terrified of the future. Paul Allen (and his estate) was an incredible steward of the team and generally seemed like good people. The next owner is likely to be some kind of shady investment group (or worse, someone like Bezos), and that just feels gross.
