Our study on the gut microbiome and acute stress reactivity was featured on Austrian TV and in a science blog! 🎉 Both in German. Lovely to see our work reach people beyond academia. 📺 ORF “Bewusst gesund”: on.orf.at/video/143426... 📝 Schrödingers Katze: www.schroedingerskatze.at/was-das-mikr...

In our new study at @univie.ac.at , gut microbiome composition was linked to stress reactivity. Higher microbial diversity and inferred butyrate-producing capacity were associated with stronger cortisol reactivity, which may reflect a more adaptive response. 🧠🦠

Really cool to see this work now featured in National Geographic! 🧠🦠 I also got to answer some questions about our study and the gut–brain axis, which was really fun :) www.nationalgeographic.com/health/artic...

nationalgeographic.comWhy Some People Are Better at Handling StressNew research links a more diverse gut microbiome with a stronger, potentially more adaptive response to short-term stress—but it’s only one part of the resilience puzzle.
