Social work needs more backronyms. Astrophysics was so good at having an annoying backronym for every research project. All these diagnostic measures have names like the "General Self-Efficacy Scale" and the "Patient Health Questionnaire". How am I supposed to get hype for the GSES or the PHQ

There's no prompt going around but my only actual controversial video game opinion is that almost every single-player game is easier than almost every multiplayer versus game, and that if you're the type to brag about your skill but you've never competed in a multiplayer game you're embarrassing.

A related take I have is that in all contexts beside serious competitive play, team-based and free-for-all multiplayer versus games are easier than 1v1 multiplayer versus games.

One of the most magical moments of human connection was on 1-80 in iowa 20 years ago. I was already 10 over, with a semi in the lane over and an expensive truck was just tailgating me. Honking aggressively. I made eye contact with the semi. We both nodded, and both dropped to 25 miles an hour.

imagine how much amazing chaos we could sow into the game of football if we awarded 9 points for a doink. talent evaluation for kickers would go completely upside-down, teams would bring in doink specialists, some offenses down 8 would call in the kicker at 4th and goal on the 1. let's do it

Nobody ever cares when I say this but reminder that "Mankind knew that they cannot change society" is grammatically incorrect. The tenses of "knew" and "cannot" are mismatched. It should either be "Mankind KNOWS that they CANNOT" or "Mankind KNEW that they COULD NOT"

Personally, I think "Mankind knows that they cannot change society, so instead of reflecting on themselves, they blame the beasts." is a killer revision. Get rid of all the past tense. Make it a present accusation
