It's week 4 of kitchen/house reno, a new set of strangers is working below where I'm working, chatting happily. The front door is open again, I'm sure there's a good reason. I hate this with every fiber of my being. Had a panic attack. It's going to be so nice when it's done.

To do the kitchen reno, we had to replace/add 5 piers under the house, clear out the debris-filled crawl space, add/fix drainage in there, replace 4 joists, replace the large back door, the small back door, and all the subfloor everywhere. Today I wrote all the checks because that's all done. Phew.

Literally a lifetime ago, on Earth Day 1985 (or maybe 86), I planted about 20 of those trees by the lake at UB. I have fucked up a lot of things since then, but look at those trees! It was all flat back then and we didn't have a student union. Progress is sometimes trees.

Planning how to organize the new kitchen so watching some YouTube and did you know these freaks call their extra food that doesn't fit in their fully decanted home-based storefront "overstock" ffs. Get off my lawn.

Is there a word for that feeling when you realize you haven't called your mom in way too long and you feel like you desperately need to tell her all about everything and then you remember she's been gone almost 7 years?

I have hundreds of my original watercolors just sitting around waiting for new homes. Here’s just a few #art #watercolor #painting #illustration

You know those home improvement shows where the budget just keeps blowing up because absolutely everything is wrong and broken and nobody can believe those poor people have been living this way all this time? Just asking...

It's not that I'm shocked by how awful people are, I'm old and I've seen things, it's just that I really figured there'd be a lot more clones running around by now and stuff.

I'm in a meeting where AI hallucinations are being blamed on users not adding proper descriptions and that seems funny but apt. Meanwhile this was happening on my other screen. Please note: I am forced to use this thing to keep my job, I need my job.

Demo day peels back the covers. This fucking house is going to kill me but not without a fight. The black mold, the messed up joists, the leaking doors (yes plural), the potential rodent colony, and the flooding crawl space can all get fucked (really, fixed). I'm fine.

You guys want to hear a short but adorable story that happened right in front of me at the baggage claim in NYC yesterday? I wasn't part of it and there are bits I didn't catch but holy crap, I can't stop thinking about it.
