Automation looks different today with AI. AI can dramatically accelerate execution, but good automation still starts with finding the right opportunity, understanding the process, and deciding what to automate and how. As execution gets easier, those fundamentals become even more valuable. 4/5

I’m grateful to the R community and everyone who helped me along the way. My hope is that this book helps people spend less time on manual work and gives them greater autonomy over their time and attention. Still a little surreal to see it in the Chapman & Hall/CRC R Series. 🎉 5/5 · #RStats

I was introduced to R 12 years ago, largely left it behind, and returned a few years later through a corporate R training. I saw opportunities to take repetitive work off people’s plates, so I set a goal: save 1,000 hours of work in one year. Those efforts eventually saved 20,000+ hours. 2/5

That experience shaped the book: start with the task or problem, not the package. “How can I stop combining these files manually?” “How can I turn this analysis into something others can use?” “How can I automatically generate and send this report?” Then find the right solution. 3/5
