Kay Fear Atkinson - Perfect Killer Bodies out Nov. 10

I wonder if I'll live to see a day when my life means more than its use as a rhetorical weapon in cold wars between people who both want me dead

saw Backrooms tonight, and to my surprise I actually really enjoyed that like I went in with a fair amount of skepticism considering the impression I have of the extended online "lore" but came away impressed that it had real thematic teeth, my wife and I spent a while discussing it after credits

woke up to a conservative sweep in british columbia because the NDP can't stop shooting their own dick off for five seconds great like I literally couldn't even vote because they called elections AT THE SAME TIME AS LOCAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS and my health forced me to pick one

potentially hot take: I think Ace Combat 3 is better than the 'golden era' trilogy, even though I think the trilogy are more fun to play, just because the story it's trying to tell is so strange, ambitious, and riveting

not long ago I was talking about wanting an AC that puts you in the role of a turncoat or a revolutionary, but what I didn't realize then is that 3 not only delivers, but EVERYONE is switching sides the rate at which people you like and care about become radar blips to splash is insane

still riding the high of knowing that Unlimited Combat Dolls has unlocked snuff kink in people without even consciously being written as a snuff kink thing what a magical power

always funny to work on a graphic design project for so long that it starts looking bad and you eventually realize it's because you've fried your colour perception

I just bought a fake stock 'do you mean AI generated' no I mean it's fake it says it's a vector (eps file made up of rasterized chunks) it says the background is transparent (the background is a grid mimicking transparency) it says it's isolated (the thing I'm after is merged onto the grid)

absolutely infuriating because presumably to create this file, at some point, the artist would need to have *had* an isolated version of the thing I'm after, but simply chose to make it completely useless and sell that version to people instead

god the 'realism = quality' crowd drive me insane, and we've got a fresh surge with AC8's release youtube has been harassing me to watch a video comparing the flight models of 3 and 8 and it's predictably 'omg in 3 you lose more speed in hard climbs and stalls are more aggressive ergo 8 sux'

I want to staple this person's eyes open so someone can explain what game design is ace combat 3 is a game that demands far, *far* less of the player in combat, so the slack gets taken up with a more demanding flight model as the series progresses, combat gets more taxing, the flight model relaxes
