For Zelda 40th I’d like to share how Nintendo permanently lost a fan who would have happily purchased a switch 2 for a Ocarina of Time remaster. I haven’t purchased a Nintendo product since I got a Switch for Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild would have been 💯 up my alley as a game except..

Their greed is why we don’t have these things anymore. Greed is why streaming services now have ads. Greed is why Office is a subscription and not a product you just get to buy anymore. Greed is why GamesWorkshop doesn’t include Codex’s with yearly subscription for 40K.

If we aren’t using technology advancement to make our daily lives better and more fulfilling then what’s the point of it? They’re going to make puzzles that waste your time, so you keep running on the little wheels and spending money on proprietary technology only they profit from. Fuck that.

I once considered myself a “gamer”. Yet modern games are so disconnected from being social and feeling a part of a community unless you’re into using sexist, racial, and homophobic slurs online. Games aren’t polished anymore for release, they ship them halfway done and make the rest of the game DLC.

I can go get a SNES and A Link to the Past is a full polished, beautiful game still to this day. Doesn’t need a patch, or DLC, or constant balancing. I can own it, and play it anywhere I can plug into electricity and a TV. It could even run on my phone now that we have the technology to do so.

This game isn’t for me to play or enjoy. For me that was just sad, and I haven’t touched my Switch except to pack it between moving and now it sits in my storage unit. I can’t see myself buying any Nintendo product again, it’s too niche of a product anymore. Between that and Sony…

Saying you don’t get to own things you pay for. I’m kind of glad I’ve stuck with Xbox for now, not that I like Microsoft. But they’ve at least tried to bridge the cross platform gap. Games should be a fun form of entertainment, and honestly, big companies have lost all their damn minds.

They installed a mechanic, which was a gate keeping mechanic for any adult who has an actual life. Your main attack breaks. Durability is okay, except when you have puzzles that require hitting a stupid ball across a gap perfectly within set amount of hit or you break the weapon and cannot continue.

That was enough for me to say I don’t have time for this game, or Nintendo for that matter. This is someone who beat the original Zelda as a child, replayed A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora’s Mask all to 💯 completion dozens of times. I got to one puzzle in BotW, and knew,

Funny how most people completely ignored my resignation from the USPS as hyperbolic and not an actual warning of what is to come from its collective collapse as a functioning independent service organization.

It would take many people that have left to fix it. Those of us that got overwhelmed by impossible tasks of no staff, subsidizing corporations like Amazon with our own overtime hours, and taking away easy tasks to third party systems that killed our local ties to our communities to funnel money out.

It’s just sad, and it wasn’t an easy decision for me to resign, nor has it been easy to give up my job and deal with a mortgage on a house that I can’t unload because Trump had completely fucked the housing market and interest rates. 8 years USPS and 5 USMC, and basically back to where I started.

You normalized the mistreatment of USPS employees, slowly walking back the union gains since the 70s, then expect the USPS to still serve the American people when the pay has not kept up with inflation, and they’re begging for employees in many areas. It used to be a sought after job.

It’s just frustrating to have tried to sound an alarm, but nobody listened. Now the same people I tried to warn are calling attention of the current predicament. It’s a little late. They’ve already fucked and infested the system.

I even sent letters to Biden and Harris while they were still in office about the need to fill the boards positions Biden left vacant as long as he did and the need to replace DeJoy. Now that everything is complete shit, a “whistleblower” has finally come forward… nobody was paying attention.
