My article on colonial cattle censuses has just been published in open access in The American Historical Review: doi.org/10.1093/ahr/... 👇 Focusing on Madagascar, I show the significance of cattle census and their potential for historical analysis.

In Manaus for fieldwork and just got news my article on Samoa and Pacific history is out in the Journal of Global History! I use a multispecies, more‑than‑human lens on capitalism and colonialism, showing how Samoan people allied with the rhinoceros beetle. OA Link below 👇👇🪲

Next week! Join me at Brown (CLACS & STS Colloquium) for my talk on insects & capitalism: “Weevils and Bollworms in Latin America: Cotton Empires and the Ecologies of Global Capitalism, c. 1880–1940”
