Mac McClung has the coolest job in the world. Nobody ever yells at him about whether his team loses, and then one night per year, he just has to do one or two cool things. The Santa Claus of dunking

Now, what you love here about Hubie Brown calling his last NBA game tomorrow is that he's still doing it at 91 years old. OK? He's teaching you the game of basketball. And so you say, you're learning the game. And he's done this at a high level for six decades, and for that, you have to thank him.

Thought these were the most important plays for Embiid's short-term outlook. Looks comfortable pivoting on L knee, has burst on first step & strength to establish in post, not avoiding contact in traffic. We'll see how knee responds, but some really encouraging moments today.

I would be darkly comedic if the Sixers' Big 3 played one full game together but no one saw it because it was at the exact same time as the Eagles. Not rooting for this. Just acknowledging the potential humor up front.

Jared McCain, on overcoming his shooting slump (he was 2-21 from 3 in his previous three games): "The worst thing you can do is change anything. I've worked too hard on this jump shot, there's no way I'm gonna change anything with my routine, anything."

Trae Young is averaging 12.42 assists per game this season. That would be the best mark of any player since John Stockton in 1994. Also the best mark not involving Stockton or Magic since 1985.

It's a well-observed phenomenon that people hate waiting lines much less, if they know how much the waiting time is gonna be. The Embiid situation is quite the same. If someone came out and told us "the knee is kaput, see you next year," I'd feel more relaxed than this day-to-day tribulation.

I hate to say this, but Maxey isn't all that without Embiid. He was a perfect complement to the big fella, but is woefully under-qualified to be a lead guard. The handle is still too rigid, the passing instincts are minimal, and while blazing fast, he's not particularly agile.

The Magic game broke me. No more ramping up. No more Nurse being pissy at the media. No more second half sloppy passes and lack of urgency (which is a reflection on Nurse). Gotta start winning games or you'll wake up much further behind. Have to win tonight.

I love Embiid to death, but he must be leading the league all-time in this specific type of turnover. Obviously a huge part is due to poor communication - Oubre should have called out - yet I'd still expect Joel to have some better court awareness by now.

You are up to date.
