5 years ago, me & Jade started streaming as v-tubers. Oct. 29th was the first time I went live on my own channel, so this Thursday we will celebrate my 5-year streamiversary! And here was me thinking that the reason people went to streaming sites was to see streamers. If we wanted cloud gaming we'd go check out OnLive... oh wait... Anyway, did you know our featured streamers spot on the front page is random? We give everyone a spot, not just the biggest communities.

Twitch continues to do our marketing for us I see. "we don't want to make our own tools, bet we can get someone else to pay for the LLM slop too" - twitch probably. Meanwhile, our site is made by a single human dev with assistance from community members who actually know what they're doing.

I see the "no friendship decay" post going around. I worry that people see me as unapproachable or a bad friend because I do not often reach out first via DM's. It might make me appear cold and shut off. It's 100% a personal problem. Years of social anxiety & feeling like I'm a bother & a bore.

And if someone feels I haven't been a good friend, I'd want to actually have a conversation about it so we can clear the air. Recent events have made me wish I could have had a say in whatever caused a friend to cut me off, but life isn't that kind or fair. I'd rather know if I've done wrong though.

Entering the v-tubing space 5 years ago is what taught me to be able to make friends online and actually keep them. I used to self-sabotage by running away from spaces where I thought everyone hated me, but never actually asked anyone for the truth. I stopped running and stayed in one place though.

I've tried breaking this habit of going quiet when people aren't coming to me first to talk or make plans, but it's difficult to do consistently. I want my friends to know I'm there for them, and that I always want to hear from them even if I am slow to get back if I'm busy.
