And here was me thinking that the reason people went to streaming sites was to see streamers. If we wanted cloud gaming we'd go check out OnLive... oh wait... Anyway, did you know our featured streamers spot on the front page is random? We give everyone a spot, not just the biggest communities.

Twitch continues to do our marketing for us I see. "we don't want to make our own tools, bet we can get someone else to pay for the LLM slop too" - twitch probably. Meanwhile, our site is made by a single human dev with assistance from community members who actually know what they're doing.

A user of altstream posted about using AI to mangle something approximating music together. I would think it doesn't need to be said but our platform is a strictly no genAI space. If you promote it's use, you will be removed. It's that simple.

Well Ashe has made me a filthy liar and has resolved the issues we were having. Altstream is now back online! Thank you for your patience.

Update: Altstream will be down for at least the remainder of today while we continue to work on our webserver. TLDR: the vulnerability fixes from yesterdays dumpster fire on the internet has got mist server and the website not wanting to play nice. Sorry for the continued downtime.

We are currently working on a bug that is preventing the media server from showing that folk are live on altstream. Sorry for the downtime, we will update you here when we have a fix.

The alpha for my @altstream.online websocket bridge is available for free on ko-fi. All it requires is java to be installed. There is both a linux and windows version. This allows you to send messages from an #altstream account via websockets. I send websocket messages with #vnyan for my bot.

#VNyan 1.7.3b hotfix adds AltStream Tips-node. You can use that if you have Ko-fi webhooks connected to your AltStream account~ Also fixes couple issues with AltStream Shoutout-node

Initial alpha of FoxedItUp is now available for brave people to test. Keyword: "alpha". This gives partial support for using MixItUp with @altstream.online. Currently working are Channel Points, !commands and *maybe* incoming raid alerts github.com/LumKitty/Fox...

Streamers, you can now add a sub badge to your altstream! Viewers who subscribe to you via Ko-Fi can now get your sub badge in chat and get a channel point multiplier! As this is going via Ko-Fi integration we do not take a cut and your funds are available instantly!

The upcoming #VNyan 1.7.3 is going to add support for AltStream~ At launch we'll have callback nodes for follows, raids, channel points, chat messages and commands. Beta version will hopefully be available soon~

Good morning from us at alt stream, and a huge thank you to everyone who has signed up to give our site a try! As of this morning we have passed 1500 registered users! We couldn't be doing this without all of you!

The site is running extremely stable, we have MistServer running well now too! I'm taking the weekend off doing any code, it's been a few weeks since I had time to just play anything, however if you need us for anything we're still around on socials and the Stoat / Discord. Enjoy streaming! ❤️

Multiple days and late nights later, having overcome annoying roadblocks and other obsticles but we are finally back up and running. New hardware, and new media service that hasn't been poisoned by AI. We're back!

We don’t use @bear-den.org but it’s a very valid! We’ve used a local smaller business ourselves. One of the things we are doing is trying to avoid the monopolies and grow the smaller businesses! 🎉

Migration still ongoing, we’re currently going through all the security setup first making sure everything is tight before moving our systems across. While that’s been happening, I’ve wrapped up the first iteration of a no auth required public API, It’s being tested currently for stability.

AltStream working on their server infrastructure, community and the people running it are A+ good beans too. Love it. Once they're a little more happy with it I'm never gonna shut up about the place.
