This chart is insane. This shows Russia's casualties over time compared to Russia's territorial gains in Ukraine over the last five years. No sane or rational person would say continuing the war to try and take more of Ukraine's territory is worth the casualties.

cutting caffeine to help with sleep because it doesn't pair well with adhd meds... but aaauugh caffeine withdrawal headache is also not helping me sleep!

Upvoted. If you're proud of your genAI usage, you should be proud to advertise that. Like with adult content, those who want to see it, can. Those who don't can hide it.

Dear Diary. Today I went to costco hungry and ate a hot dog and did not ALSO have a slice of pizza. I feel reasonably satisfied and am not all bloated! Go me!

When you're in a real bad place, having people try to cheer you up can be disheartening. It's like you're on a plane that's going down, and you have to pack your parachute to survive. It's all tangled up, and you don't know what you're doing, and people are trying to distract you and make you smile

Eventually you can't help but have thoughts like "if I stop trying, maybe I won't survive this one, and then I won't have to go through all the pain again." And then your friends all give you a big thumbs up. "you got this, see you on the next flight!" and hop out.

Again, to clarify, this isn't in anger or applying blame. Everyone is dealing with their own shit. I rarely help others; I'm too busy desperately trying to pack my own chute. So is everyone else. I'm also a very frustrating person to help for a stack of reasons.

And then they say "it's okay buddy I believe in you" and they jump out of the plane with their perfectly packed chute. To be clear, I'm not angry at my friends; I'm happy that they can pack their chute. If they were to stop and pack mine for me, they might not make it out themselves.

But my whole life I've never managed to pack a chute right. either I get lucky and miraculously survive the crash, or someone helps me out at the last second and we both barely make it. Each time it gets harder, and the resulting landing hurts more

Every small bit of happiness comes with an extra shot of panic because your brain is screaming that you need to pay attention. But the screaming doesn't help because you still don't know how, and it's cold and you don't have gloves. The longer you take the more your fingers are freezing

Hot take: I don't like it when people shame people (rich or otherwise) for getting hair restoration procedures. I really like my long hair, and my hairline is receding and it makes me self conscious, and if I could get it fixed it would make me so much more comfortable in my skin

DID YOU KNOW that if someone *doesn't* say anything about me or my art/performance, it's because they are too polite to give criticism. But if they DO, and give me a compliment, it's also because they're too polite to give criticism and instead are just patronizing me?

Flipside: the reason I'm out walking in 103 degree heat is because I'm trying to stave off PDA panic/anxiety attack/tantrum that's been keeping me from getting important work done for the last week (leading to ever increasing anxiety)

I used to think it was super annoying that I sweat so much. Then I gave in and learned to soak in the heat, and started using headbands. Now I just think it's neat that I can effectively thermally regulate when it's 103F outside and 113 heat index.

I'm finally discovering naps. I've always been terrible at them. Ocassionally I've had great ones, but usually I either lay restlessly or just fall into deep sleep and then the rest of my day is ruined. My tool: alarm. If I set an alarm it's easier for me to relax, because I know I won't oversleep.

Because I deal with loads of time-anxiety, where I feel like whatever I choose to do next will take the rest if my day. But if I know it'll only be 30 minutes, I can chill. Even if I don't fall asleep, it allows me to set the phone down and be restful. It's real nice. Might try for one a day
