Trump: "So I'm studying him. And I made the mistake of saying that I started off by studying his ass. I just wantasink. And then I looked at his feet & they were massive. I made the mistake of studying his anatomy. Maybe I should do that with Ken Paxton, but I'm not sure your body is gonna qualify."

Running a gambling pit is a version of theft in a similar sense as false advertising being theft. Both have the appearance of consent from the victim but both manipulate them into actions they would not take if they understood the truth

Meanwhile, one of the most harmful policy movements in America right now is a property tax revolt that is shifting us away from our most economically efficient tax, all so property owners can have a little more in their pockets next month.

Ethics aside, this take could use some contact with reality. Biden's expanded CTC didn't motivate recipients to vote to maintain it. Trump offered $5000 checks and it hurt him in the polls. The empirical claim that welfare creates single issue voters just doesn't hold up.

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

There are only two explanations for the NYT's habit of presenting GOP operatives and donors as true swing voters: 1. Their reporters and editors are somehow incapable of running a simple Google searches, showing just a staggering level of journalistic incompetence 2. They want to the GOP to win

Really though the entire question of “what makes me Good in God’s sight” is irrelevant. You are baptized, so now you can live a life dedicated to what is true, good, and beautiful, and that’s that no further questions about your eternal security

Even though I am anti-Lutheran in my theology, one thing he had right is that you need to Remember Your Baptism and then block out the question of whether you’re “good enough.”

Not even 10 minutes into CPE first day and we have already hit our first inscrutable bureaucratic roadblock. (Employee Health dept had wrong billing code for Religion, Spirituality, and Human Values dept and rejected me from getting my required TB test)

Go see Wildwood. Seriously, don’t wait—go see Wildwood. What a piece of art. The love for the manual craft, for story that doesn’t hold back, for filmmaking that is not here to answer to stockholders, it weaves all through it. Incredible stuff.

Anyone who gets fooled by Ro Khanna is a fucking moron I'm sorry.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-California) has been taking steps like these to raise his national profile ahead of a possible 2028 presidential campaign. He has been positioning himself to be one of the most appealing candidates to the party’s left wing.

If your screenplay is boring, just give one of the characters a Taser at the beginning of the scene. Whether or not they use it, even if it’s a false Chekhov’s taser, you successfully spiced things up

I’m reviewing student essays, probably 2/3 of which were first-drafted by AI, and the negative parallelism is everywhere. At this point they should just include “don’t use negative parallelism” in their prompts, it would save me time pointing them all of them out

actual content of the story aside, this is very well written and well reported, and proves that there are people at the NYT capable of covering trans issues with both sensitivity and journalistic objectivity. interesting that this one came from the military beat.
