🚨 BREAKING: Democrats asked a federal court to throw out the DOJ's unprecedented lawsuit that seeks to preemptively block certification of Alaska’s U.S. Senate race if the Republican incumbent loses.

“Alaska’s courts did already settle this.” A state supreme court ruled. A state election system has a built-in fix. A state is already voting. And Trump's DoJ is in court trying to override all of it — in an election the state is supposed to administer. That’s the whole case.

Breaking every norm, Trump’s Justice Department sued to hold Alaska’s election hostage because he told it to. Alaska’s courts already ruled on this and Alaskans are already voting. No lawsuit Trump orders up will change who decides this race: Alaska voters.

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Trump says he ordered the Justice Department lawsuit over Alaska's US Senate race: 'I'm the one that said do it.'

Straight from the horse’s mouth. Trump admitted Friday that he personally ordered the Justice Department to sue to block Alaska from certifying its Senate race if the Republican loses. “I’m the one that said do it.”

commondreams.orgTrump-Ordered DOJ Lawsuit in Alaska Seen as First Salvo in GOP Effort to Undermine Midterm Elections | Common Dreams"I'm the one that said do it," Trump said of the lawsuit, which seeks to block certification of Alaska's Senate election if the Democrat wins.

Every guardrail between a president and the Justice Department exists to prevent exactly one thing: a president telling prosecutors to act in a case he has a personal stake in. Trump just said he did it. Out loud. On camera.

Trump on the Alaska election lawsuit: "I'm the one that said 'do it'"

Alaska’s courts already ruled on this candidate, Alaska’s Republican officials got their say on designing the ballot, and Alaskans are already voting. None of that matters to an administration that wants a federal judge on standby to cancel an election it doesn’t like.

BREAKING: The Trump Justice Department has moved to preemptively block certification of the results of Alaska's Senate race if Republican incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan loses.

Take Trump seriously when he threatens to jail election officials for doing the job they’re sworn to do: counting votes. “We are not on the precipice of a constitutional crisis,” Marc Elias says. “We have reached it.” They’re betting you’ll stop paying attention. Follow us to prove them wrong.

NEW: Trump’s DOJ just showed the country its plan for any election Republicans lose: sue to throw out the results. This lawsuit is every bit as baseless, and Alaska voters will decide this race no matter what Trump’s goons say.

THEY ARE SAYING IT OUT LOUD. Trump’s Attorney General just refused to rule out the Justice Department interfering with states certifying their elections — one day after saying out loud, “I work for President Trump.” They are not even hiding it.
