Heyyy are you an author who has sold a book and then negotiated staying attached as a screenwriter and likes answering questions because I am in need of some hypothetical advice very fast for no reason at all.

Went to start a web page today, not having much clue. Tried Wix, and they put the upgrade squeeze on so early, hard, and fast that I noped out and cancelled before I even saw any kind of site builder/editor. Back to square one.

Saw MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE 👍B+ Enjoyable in general, appealing to a 10-12 year old boy vibe. Several drawn-out cringy scenes that seem to go out of their way to mock Kids These Days, and itself, but overall likeable. If it had taken itself a bit more seriously, maybe an A-.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day 👍👍 I'm never terribly happy with Spider-Man adaptations, but this one feels like a comic book, or actually more like several issues of a comic book.

Saw the second Fish Gordon (Aquaman) movie. Wow. Flat performances next to hamfeasts. Lifeless dialog. Bizarre motivations for some characters, absent for others. A villain decorating style direct from Mordor. All the features of the bad DC movies.

Movie tries to take the Thor-Loki dynamic and invert the personalities, which works not at all. They wind up with less competitive sibling rivalry, and more powerjock bullying a stiff.

The last #farscape 3-run of season 2 turns out to be a mashup heist-caper-western-in space! This series seems to not care about distance or time in the slightest. That's a coherence problem, but it allows them to assemble a ragtag band of criminals and thugs, and reuse costumes as a budget saver.

Good enough plot, where the crew is trying to rescue someone by paying ransom, paid by burglary, which turns into a prisoner swap, which turns into a heist action flick, cue the assembly of the ragtag band of cutthroats. Plots are resolved, and things set up for the S3 finale.

#farscape is on a run of mostly disconnected eps, but one plot thread leads to a coming 3-run, so maybe some lines will get picked up. One ep was Rashomon In Space, another was a lifetime timewarp. I'm not overly impressed, but the next run looks like a spaghetti space western.

#farscape continues to be uneven. A good three-episode run with considerable character dev and multiple antagonists is followed by what looks like a filler bottle episode pretending to be an Alien movie, involving two unconvincing puppets and some middling CGI bugs.

Finished up the second & last season of GenV in the last couple of days. Nice to know I can still call a plot twist. Yet another example of how the bad guys could what they want by not being jerks, but they can't understand it. In fiction as in life.

Today I discovered that deer sneeze. That's not exactly a surprise, except that a deer having a sneezing fit in my backyard was unexpected, and that deer sneezes sound like water falling on an electric plate.

Ah, the futile triumph of solving a problem with a TV series that ended 50-odd years ago with a format from that era. Kolchak should have been part of a TV movie wheel series, not an hour-long weekly. Timely, aren't I? #kolchak

5-6 movies a year, each season in a different section of the country, as Kolchak has to bounce around after 'stirring up trouble'. Make sure to show him getting a few major scoops, too, so he's not just a laughingstock. The backup cast changes each season.

Continuing my Farscape watching. I wonder at Chrighton's general lack of curiosity. Tell me about: Leviathans The general political landscape, starting with the Hynerian Empire. The Peacekeepers How their (relatively slow) stardrive works? #farscape

Add to this mildly annoying incuriosity, a lack of problem solving. "Oh, how can we get food, resources, chart data to find our way home?" You are living on a large transport and cargo vessel and you routinely visit commerce centers. Transport is valuable.
