In response to my exhaustion constantly fighting to avoid AI tools and adverts forced down my throat as I browse online I have decided to work my way through my "to-watch" film list on any evening I'm home alone. Join me won't you?

12. Heretic Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ I liked this one! Nice and short, great set design, nasty man, perfectly fine as an interesting one and done horror with a kind of absurd/comedic tone at times that I didn't find too jarring alongside the mental manipulation.

13. The Fall Guy Hype: ⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Sorry I fell really bad into the gosling-verse and now I'm stuck here. Don't come looking for me I'm perfectly happy where I am.

10. Sense and Sensibility Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ignore what I said earlier some movies do need to be that long to really feel the yearning

11. Mulholland Drive Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm not going to sit here and pretend I understood this entire thing on a first watch, it's Lynch, it needs to be chewed over and I need to feel out what *I* think it's saying. But I reaaaaally liked it. Can't wait to rewatch it and discuss with folks.

Sad that many institutions have zero spine but are very willing to show their entire ass entirely for the sake of putting money into the pockets of the rich elite.

embarrassing to stand up before the people you’re supposed to represent (authors, by the way, since you seem to have forgotten) and put the word “ethical” in front of “AI use” showing the entire community you don’t understand that words have meanings or that you have their best interest at heart.

8. Blade Runner Hype: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Not wholly mesmerised by Blade Runner but the more I chew it over the more I see the merit. It's baby's first "wow....... who gets to decide if we're human enough......" which I've seen lots of media explore now so obv has a lesser effect but worth the watch!

9. Interstellar Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐ Some reaaaally good bits and some real slogs to get through. Glad I've seen it but not one I'd jump to watch again. Some movies don't need to be as long as they are.

The hour of the Rusałka has come. Can you hear the spirits of drowned women moaning in the night? Can you see the trails of desperate mortals seeking the secret pool with a dangerous wish in their heart? They all need you. To recollect and retell their story. Will you head the call?

I sent Duel of Fools 3 off to print on Friday and while I have some other jobs to do I keep having moments where I'm like what do you MEAN I dont have any clowns to draw today??? No jesters?? not a single bell??

7. Super 8 Hype: ⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Wasn't on my list but we put it on today during my sister's partner's birthday chillout day and it was a fun watch! The kids dialogue is definitely the best part. Note to Mr JJ Abrams please add more lighting I would like to see what's happening.

5. The Nice Guys Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was so sad when the credits rolled bc I didn't want it to be over yet haha. I loved the set designs, I loved all the colour palettes, and I giggled a lot through the whole thing. I forgot Keith David was also in it so that was a fun surprise for me.

6. Pulp Fiction Hype: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ I fucking hate tarantino with all my heart and soul. I expected to like this one a lot more than I did. It has some great moments that drag up its rating but, man, I think it's aged real bad with the casual slur usage coming directly out of his own mouth 8/9

Colouring page 37/44....... pray for me.....

Cat 🌻🌾 Tbubs 🔜 2000AD@tsundernova.bsky.social

Hello new followers and sorry to old followers for disappearing for a while. All 44 pages of Duel of Fools 3 have been inked and I am now onto colouring. I have not died YET!!!!!!! Here's a celebration panel I really enjoyed drawing.

3. Blade 2 Hype: ⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Blade 2 I found even more enjoyable, partly due to Del Toro's styling which I'm a big fan of. It's VERY Hellboy 2 but I'm not complaining because I LOVE Hellboy 2. I love how hefty the action is, borderline goofy, but it committed and was super fun to watch.

@fuckyoubaker.bsky.social

4. The Crow Hype: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I put this one off bc it was one my brother liked and since he wouldn't let me watch MY movie choices over tea I formed a blinding grudge against the film. Jokes on me, I missed out on a really good film until now. I'll have to apologise to my brother ffs ://

BAKER

MUCH RESPECT TO PEOPLE NICER THAN ME

1. Drive Hype: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Starting off VERY strong with Drive. I've been recommended it many times and it didn't disappoint. Not over-complex it captured my attention from start to finish and, as always, Ryan Gosling's pea-brained little smile cuts through me like a knife through butter.

2. Blade Hype: ⭐⭐⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Blade is an underrated comic to film character. I miss this kind of grit characters like this have, a lot of marvel nowadays feels quite cookie cutter in humour and disposition so I've long lost interest. Blade is stylish, scratched an action itch, and theeen...

Because I want to prioritise as many cultural touchstone films that I haven't seen as possible my rating system is gonna be a little bit like little white lies where I'll have a prior hype rating and my actual enjoyment rating. I'll also include some thoughts I had about the film.

20 Sept

I've started making a conscious effort to use my dinner time to start working my way through all the cultural must-see movies that I have never gotten round to watching. For example, I've never seen the matrix. I know what happens and I've never watched it. I disgust myself.

20 Sept

I have a full list of things I've never watched but are always referenced/recommended but I'm also open to suggestions if you have anything you think I HAVE to see. If I've already seen it we can just talk about it in the comments, it's literally win-win!

20 Sept

I've also no idea if anyone is interested on my thoughts on the movies as I make my way through the list. Maybe I should make a thread or a letterboxd account or something.
