Edinburgh's TAGS Fest showed exactly how to run a community-led indie gathering at the Drill Hall today, packing out the venue with creator-owned comics, zines, and handcrafted tabletop games without corporate marketing interference. #TAGSFest
TAGS Fest is OPEN at Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Dalmeny St! We've got a Creators' Market, a Board Game Zone, and a whole lineup of talks - and it's all completely free to attend! See you there!

While the roundtable was Scotland-specific, there will be problems in here that are faced by small press creators across the UK and even around the world. It's worth having a look through even if you aren't a comic creator and seeing if there are any issues YOU can tackle and help resolve!
So great to see everyone last night!(Such a good turnout?!) Honestly, it was pretty inspiring to watch a community take charge of itself in real time. Can’t wait to see what comes next! ✊
Huge thanks to @smallpress.scot for their help, and to @petermorey.bsky.social for THIS bat-filled beaut:
Are you comics? Are you Scottish/in Scotland? WELL GUESS WHAT. We have a last roundtable, all for you!

For example, did you know there’s a higher concentration of self-published creators in Scotland? Now you do, you nerd!

While 8% of the UK population lives in Scotland, 15% of its comics creators do. What makes Scotland such a hotbed for comics? And how can we ensure this hardy scene thrives? This roundtable is open to all who work in and with comics in Scotland, from established veterans to fresh-faced newcomers.
Following on from the nationwide discussions on the findings of the UK Comics Creators Research Report, this event will take a more action-oriented approach: providing a space to sound out potential projects and activities that benefit creators, boost audience access, and develop infrastructure.
