Following a successful Kickstarter, Dawn Chorus is now available to buy! For just £3 you will receive a link to download and print both game sheets. There are low ink variants available, plus the rules. Any and all support is greatly appreciated ❀️🐦 I hope you enjoy

Wingspan Pocket! This smaller, swifter, and streamlined version of Wingspan gives each player a single row of cards to create and activate every turn. There’s also a new type of power, green (ongoing) benefits. Join me at 10:00 Central on YouTube to chat about it: www.youtube.com/live/6JCCSCG...

In the absence of @matthewdunstan.bsky.social from YouTube (I hope all is well and you're uploading again soon!) if anyone is looking for a fix inspired by Postmark games, my game Dawn Chorus has launched on Kickstarter! www.kickstarter.com/projects/tab... PnP, R&W, 2-4players, certified awesome.

kickstarter.comDawn Chorus - Print and PlayBring the dawn chorus to your table with this print-at-home board game that uses a single sheet of paper.

πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ Did you know, Dawn Chorus was born out of the 2025 Roll & Write contest on BGG. It's come a long way since then. The feedback and support I received during that competition was instrumental in getting 🐦 Dawn Chorus 🐦 to where it is today. I would recommend this competition to any designer. 🧩🧩

πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ One of the most addictive parts of being obsessed with designing board games is imagining a new game idea as it blossoms in your mind, and it plays perfectly. Before any playtesting confirms to you that the game actually sucks. I designed a logo for such a game, and it's a great game.

As part of the upcoming release of Dawn Chorus, there is the free Community Edition of the game that plays exactly the same as the full game, with a low ink design that is more accessible for everyone. The goal is to provide a neat little game that can be printed and played anywhere, by anyone ❀️🐦

Congratulations πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Happy 100th birthday Mr Attenborough. Without your influence, nature would not exist in our hearts like it does today β™₯️ (not to mention all the awesome nature themed board games that would not exist without this generation of 'natural' nerds)

πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ Well, the BGG 2025 Roll & Write Comp has wrapped up. It was a lot of fun and taking part helped me get over the line with Dawn Chorus's design. My best awards were 3rd place for best multiplayer game, and 4th place for best overall game. I'm absolutely chuffed with that!

Love the design doctor series idea! This will be really helpful and interesting to see what designers are getting stuck on. Look forward to watching it πŸ‘

New video is out, discussing feedback I gave judging the Cardboard Edison award, and unveiling the Design Doctor series, where you can submit your design for feedback from me! Details in the video: youtu.be/DIK8eSltwNU πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ

This is some of the best advice for starting out in board game design. Like I was mentioning yesterday, "Tools, not rules". Thanks for putting this together, Matthew! πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ

One of my challenges to myself for the new year was to start making Youtube videos about game design...and I'm happy to say my very first 'properly edited' video is now live on my channel, talking about some tips getting started designing a game in 2025. youtu.be/31Urh-jDShY

This is a good take. Plus it is simply so much effort to make a good idea into a great game, why bother doing it to some else's πŸ€”

β€œYou should be worried if people *aren’t* stealing from [your design] because otherwise you don’t have anything worth stealing.” This is why I advocate for open sharing of projects. Don’t be afraid that someone will steal your ideaβ€”because all it does is validate you as someone with good ideas

I'm working on a concept for the game jam using Hedgeways tiles where players are placing tiles and moving their meeple along them. Players are trying to 'harvest' specific colours by leaving a block on them. It's quite abstract at the moment but it's looking fun πŸ‘Œ
