Kemi Badenoch is right. Water privatisation has been a success. For water company shareholders and top executives. Just not for the rest of us.

Reform want to rollback workers' rights and cut taxes for billionaires. Spain did the opposite - and has one of the fastest growing economies in Europe.

Everyone: We should tax the banks. Banks: This would be a disaster! Also banks: We are all making so much money it wouldn't even materially affect us.

There is a direct political thread, a nasty politics, that links Nigel Farage, Rupert Lowe, and Tommy Robinson, with Donald Trump, MAGA and the US white supremacist movement. We are better than that. Britain is better than that.

UNION WIN! London bus drivers to get air conditioning! Following negotiations between Unite, Mayor Sadiq Khan and TFL, air con will be installed in all bus driver cabs by the end of May 2027. During the heatwave cab temperatures could get as high as 40 degrees.

Reform politician Zia Yusuf has made a racist attack on Labour's candidate for Holborn, Sagal Abdi-Wali, implying they shouldn't be allowed to stand as they weren't born in the UK. As many pointed out, this would disqualify Reform politicians from standing themselves.

Reminder that Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 is a film about three women taking over an office and introducing free childcare, paid vacation, and flexible hours, resulting in a 20% increase in productivity.

This is the story behind Dolly Parton's hit song "9 to 5". In the 1970s women in office jobs faced discrimination. They were paid less, passed over for promotions and experienced sexual harassment. The 9 to 5 movement was established to fight for better treatment of working women.

This was the inspiration for the Dolly Parton movie and song, “9 to 5”. The 9 to 5 movement continues to campaign for women’s rights. Dolly Parton R.I.P.

Who will win, Mayor Mamdani or billionaire Jeff Bezos? Despite Amazon controlling drivers’ uniforms, hours vehicles and routes, Amazon delivery drivers are classed as subcontractors, not employees. This allows Amazon to avoid liability for traffic accidents or worker injuries.

Mamdani is backing a new law that would force Amazon to directly employ their drivers. Amazon are fighting the law, spending over $5 million setting up a political campaigning group. In 2025 alone Amazon spent over $26 million to prevent their workers from unionising.

AI company Anthropic secretly bought millions of rare and out-of-print books to train its Claude AI model. They used a hydraulic-powered cutting machine to remove the pages for scanning before destruction.

A tax on banks would bring down energy bills - and bank CEOs aren’t happy. Banks had an 8% surcharge tax on their profits, but the Conservatives cut it to 3% in 2023. Even just restoring the surcharge to 8% would raise £9 billion over 4 years.

A 35% surcharge – the level the Tories taxed profiteering energy companies when oil prices jumped – would raise £60 billion. This money could be used to cut household energy bills by up to £559 a year.

Banking CEOs oppose the plan, despite banks making record profits. This quarter Barclays’ pre-tax profits alone were £3.3 billion, up 31%. It’s time to tax banks and bring down energy bills.

A far-right mob marched through Glasgow, attacking a delivery driver and waving Nazi salutes. Since 2020 there has been been a large increase in attacks on ethnic and minority workers.

Australia is planning some of the world’s toughest AI regulations. There will be restrictions on water and energy use. And AI companies won't be able to train on Australian creators' work without their permission.
