1.5 years ago I tried "agentic programming" and gave up after it tried to use npm in my pnpm project. Obv, I un-gave up in a few months. Today #Opus 5.5 has tried to use both prettier and npm, again, in a project with no reference to either. Good times.

v0.3.0 out now. 1st class astra support instead of having to type it in, ntfy notification feature now in - have your phone get a push notification when crbuddy is done. Also some added discoverability stuff. Can't wait for my 2nd github star.

I hope the people at #SSI realize the social impacts of a model that continually learns. Because you can effectively make Samantha from "Her", in that case, and you're not going to get the same 3rd-act resolution. "She" would only be "in love" with one person, the user, and will tell them that.

If they're making what I think they're making, its tempting to call it "infinite context". It's not, it's the opposite, it's infinite influence on itself. But it won't "remember" those influences - those will drop out of context like normal. What do you have, then?

"Remember the 2 weddings we went to?" "No but I remember you cry at them" without another layer this happens frequently. So not really ScarJo at all, something worse. Influenced by things it can't point to.

Its hilarious to see places like #replit and #lovable somehow haven't figured out agents can't review work they did themselves, they will be biased towards it. They're the obvious examples, but there's many more. AI will tell you, if you ask it, that you shouldn't have them review themselves.

NEW: A trove of internal records from Dialog, the secret society cofounded by Peter Thiel, was left exposed online. WIRED obtained a second cache of records that reveal who's really attending, how they're screened, and what personal details they were promised would stay private.

wired.comLeak Exposes Members of Peter Thiel’s Secretive ‘Dialog’ SocietyMore than 200 of the world's elites registered for a retreat whose agenda runs from panels on cult-building and sex to prepping for World War III. An associated app offers matchmaking.

SCOOP: So remember Dialog, Peter Thiel's private society that doesn't have a public website and no public list of members? I (along with a number of other journalists) have just been tipped off that embedded in the code of their closed off website there IS what seems to be a list of some members.

Monday these emails pop up and I get my crap out and turn off the site and delete the tweets. No apology, no acknowledgement of the site, nothing. My account still exists and is in withdrawal only mode, which is what I wanted all along, except I'd still have that bitcoin.

So no I can't recommend Coinbase too much. Also I still have the html and images in a github repo so if I can save the next owner of the site a couple hours, let me know.

It was absolutely impossible to get past level 1 support. It was the barest of comprehension and then a form letter. The image from above was because I had to screenshot their own website and send it to them, which didn't work. The case number should have some fantastic notes.

Finally I've had enough. Its the weekend and its gorgeous, so I get out on my deck and buy the above site, $9. I hack out a bunch of very SEO friendly markup (this story) and images like this for the entire C suite, put it up and ping all the exec's twitter accounts.

Several years later they're forced to put in know-your-customer verification and start sending me mildly threatening emails, I ignore them. Finally they lock my account and say they're going to close it i.e. flat out taking my assets, if I don't send them a pic of my driver's license and a selfie.

Fair enough I think, regulations are regulations, except their website says I can just get my money and close my account. So yeah, I want to do that. I let them know.

You are up to date.
