The FCC just opened public comments on SpaceX's plan to launch a million satellites to do AI compute in space. Under the current proposal, an environmental review won't be required. Please consider submitting a public comment to oppose this damaging plan. darksky.org/news/two-sat...

Oh and if any of that sounded interesting to you. You can check it out at kubefeed.dev. Consider it a v0.0.0, but interested if anybody else would find this useful or useful with a few extra features/filters.

So I’ve been on a few side quests lately and have needed to do some work against Kubernetes release info. I’ve had to do this enough in the last that I decided it was time to just make something general purpose and something where I didn’t need to fight with GitHub rate limits and tokens 😬

Now, let’s be clear. There were times where the agents just got lost and I had to stub out some code to get them back on track. And the code that ended up being generated was fairly repetitive and will be something that could use some tidying in the future.

But, was it functional? Absolutely. Did it let me focus on the value I was trying to build? 💯. So it’s encouraging to see these agents and models maturing to the point where it does feel like an extra set of hands. Albeit occasionally an extra set of hands running with scissors.

After a few minutes of bootstrapping , I decided I wanted to focus more on the thing I wanted to actually build. So figured this was a good opportunity to gently yell at some machines and tell them to go do my work for me.

This was actually maybe one of the cooler parts here because I was able to continue on my merry way building the thing that I actually wanted while some agents cobbled together what was essentially a utility I needed for later.

And this is why I’ve got a box of about every hard drive I’ve ever owned sitting in my basement.

Stop donating your old storage media without clearing them first people... This one had just been reset to factory settings, but not zeroed-out first. It was used by an HOA and had PDFs with full contact information of all residents, including their children's names and ages. 😱

Update - we did it! At least for another year. Thanks to my team and division for helping osuosl.org/blog/

The Oregon State open source lab which provides hosting for hundred of open source projects, as well as research, resources, and support to countless other others is in trouble and we will shut down soon if they can’t find $250,000. Spread the word and donate give.fororegonstate.org/PL1Uv3Fkug

German is the best. My daughter is doing German Duolingo because she knows I studied a good bit of it in school (I’m rusty now, no pop quizzes) and she always asks what my favorite word is. I always fall back to sicherheitsmaßnahmen. But this may be a new runner-up.

I didn’t break it! But yeah, it’s busted. Seems like the teams are working on it though.

Any friends at Microsoft able to point me to any announcement as to why VSCode live share seems to just be returning 500 responses for the past day or so? Haven’t seen anything about it, but plenty of GH issues seem like it’s not a user error this time 😬

There must be a wild amount of peace for those who run systems that you HAVE to deal with versus those you want to deal with. I’m looking at you local tax filing website. Whose answer to we have a lot of traffic is basically: get fucked, hope you know how to file the paper forms.

So I took my daughter to see the Minecraft movie tonight. And I’ve gotta imagine this thing is just gonna be rolling in the money. When I say I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to a movie with that kind of reaction and interaction. Shit was wild. Definitely a good end to this particular week.

Hello home shoppers out there. Let me just save you some heartache. You might think you want an old house with all that charm. But you don’t. Seriously. You don’t want it. You’ll be buying a house made out of Swiss cheese and will be constantly at war with things that also want to live there.
