The bit that may have originated in the classroom was basic media literacy. I pointed out to my parents that the foundations of my views they abhor are reflected in MASH, Les Mis, and Doonesbury…all media they introduced me to and ingested themselves.

I mean..for 1. Calling somebody a Joey Harrington is a compliment. 2) Arch may have the accent. But Joey could sit in with a New Orleans band and hold his own. Arch is no Joey Harrington.
