Re-doing my intro post! I'm Elizabeth. I'm a Melbourne based writer who does everything from narrative to dialogue to localisation. I also put pictures of my butt on the internet, and I'm a singer in my free time (mostly jazz.) I have no shame. I also collect 50's/60's Las Vegas stuff. Minors DNI.

BREAKING: BioWare bought and revived by the Vatican; Pope Leo - “I think everyone should feel the Mass Effect or, as I call it, the sacred ritual of holy communion.”

Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

Unbelievable loss. An amazing talent, and just a really, really good person. www.instagram.com/p/De8RFy4pyov/

As a former fan (I watched for Frenemies, which was really just Trisha Paytas mentally torturing Ethan for fun,) its like the dynamic of workplace downtime conversations when you have a pretty good team. Would you hang out with them outside work? No. Were they fun when locked in with them? Yeah ok.

I don't understand why people ever watched the H3 podcast. Like none of these people are funny or likeable, and they don't even seem to like each other. Someone is going to have to explain what made any of this compelling

One thing I banged the drum on HARD at Blizzard and people seemed to just not believe me: gamers want to know the people behind their games. "But teams led by divas are terrible." Yes. Do MORE "meet the devs". "People who end up in video game press are insufferable" Yes, do MORE "meet the devs."

I am very glad I have not seen this. These are not serious people

I see the same thing with Dragon Age, people calling on EA to give the IP to another studio. A lot of folks keep bringing up Larian. Ignoring the demand that EA pick the pockets and hold an estate sale before the body is cold, it’s such a disrespectful move - to the devs, BioWare, and even Larian.

Yeah, it's gotta be earnest but not sanctimonious, in the way that MacFarlane really wants to make Star Trek that happens to be funny. Tolkien would never fit ME3: Citadel.

I think what a lot of people misunderstand is that Mass Effect needs to feel more like Star Wars co-written by The Orville writers than it does Star Wars co-written by Tolkien, and that was something BioWare really nailed at it's best.

I think they could handle it, but it wouldn't have the same... vibe exactly. There's something about Mass Effect that makes it feel half way between Star Wars and a National Treasure movie, you know?

The big secret to auerteur theory is that it’s more about how the same people working together end up having a signature touch. It applies to games as well as film and acting like swapping those people out you can retain the magic is anti-labor.

I'm going to be honest - if the BioWare devs who were developing it aren't making it (dream scenario is another studio buys it and hires on any former BioWare devs who want in,) I don't fucking want it. BioWare devs ARE the secret sauce.

I love being reminded that the audience really doesn’t give a shit about the developers. Like, forget that one of the most influential studios in our industry was just executed by its publisher, just make sure the product continues on the assembly lines!

Write a short story in the robust world of Heaven's Vault! For the sickos out there, you're even allowed to use Ancient.

Oh man. Colloquially some gamedev friends and I call this kind of "you can kill who you like and the world will keep moving anyway" freedom as "killable Caesar" design (you know why) and its such an exciting thing to see any game go for. This is such a fucking tragedy.

‘Wicker’ stars Alexander Skarsgård as a man made entirely of wicker, complete with a rock-hard wicker dick. But what about splinters? Bacteria? Degradation? Would it be advisable, from a sexual-health perspective, to mount a basket dick? We asked a gynecologist: vulture.visitlink.me/DNQwX5

I feel so awful for Ethan and Hila's kids because it's hard enough for little boys to grow to have a healthy relationship with their own masculinity right now without their father cheating on their mother and humiliating her in front of the ENTIRE WORLD. I hope the guilt destroys their parents.

People who cheat on their spouses/partners who they have children with never seem to realise that one day, they'll have to answer to their kids. Even if their spouse never says anything about it and gives them a different story -- they WILL eventually work out that you had an affair.

Given that Ethan chose to use his (at the time) massive and influential platform to literally laugh at and mock the murders of Palestinian children, I can think of no better karmic punishment for Ethan than for his own children to grow up to resent or even hate him for what he did to their mother. 😎

One day they'll google their father and see what he did, and they'll see the memes and the tweets and reddit threads and videos of all these huge names mocking their parents divorce. All he had to do to protect his kids from that was not fucking do it in the first place. TERRIBLE father.

A very common thing people do when having affairs is demonise their spouses so that they can justify the affair to themselves, which often leads to them outright resenting their spouses while cheating on them and doing this shit knowingly to humiliate them.

You dont realize how evil everyday men can be until you learn about the things they subjected to their wives to at the same time they were having an affair.

Ethan Klein dressing up his wife and mistress as Thing 1 and Thing 2 while he was Cat in the Hat for Halloween and knowing his wife didn't know is a level of evil that almost enters the same zip code as his wife leaving a desk job to terrorize Palestinians

My first movie was The Lion King. I was a VERY, VERY small baby and apparently I did an insane shit that went everywhere and my dad missed half the movie while he dealt with the aftermath. The first one I REMEMBERwas Thumbelina. That sexy ass frog changed my brain. It's a miracle I'm not a furry.

Mark Thompson@markreckons.bsky.social

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

To expand: Being the victim of infidelity is torture in itself, especially with a long term partner. Your partner has essentially been gaslighting you for the duration of the affair, and your entire sense of reality is pulled from you. Your ability to trust never recovers. It's TORTURE. 1/2

I was literally on the toilet when I saw Hila's post come up pretty much instantly on my insta and I was so glued to watching this all happen in real time on my phone that my legs went numb on the toilet. I cannot think of two people I'd wish the agony of infidelity and divorce on more.

The Kleins are immensely privileged people who have ceremoneously harassed, attempted to deplatform, and attempted to bankrupt any critics of their Zionism and Islamaphobia. They have hid behind their wealth for so long. Infidelity doesn't care how much money you have. I wish them the worst.

we should all be pissed off at this btw. if not because sex work is legitimate work and should be treated with respect, then because you should be concerned at attempts to gentrify online spaces as pretext to court investors and force out minorities so those spaces can become part of a portfolio.

Let me share some positive news for a change: Despite all the gloomy headlines today, my understanding is that there are multiple paths actively being explored that would save Arkane Lyon. Anything can happen during negotiations, but at this point I'd be surprised if the studio is shut down.

I hope Trisha Paytas is having a wonderful day with her husband and three beautiful children right now. I hope she had a gigantic bowl of buttered pasta and gets to watch the Donny Osmond production of Joseph at full volume. No reason. :)
