"The Richest Person in the World" should be a highly respected sacrificial title. You achieve it and are allowed one day to enjoy it. And then we fling you into a holy volcano and redistribute your wealth to renew the cycle of life.

Young Americans may not *want* to own a car, but most will have to drive b/c cars are usually the only option when you have a job and kids. This is what happens when a country has decades of car-centric development. It's the very opposite of freedom.

There are people driving on our roads who would kill us and leave us for dead. We don't want to hear about shared responsibility or wearing hi viz. We want segregated cycle lanes, more enforcement and higher penalties for those who drive in a way that puts lives at risk. jrnl.ie/6591049 #RoadSafety

Imagine having more money than entire countries and still losing sleep over internet comments like Elon does.

Seeing a lot of "2024 was the worst" and in some ways that's true, but I try to just ignore the state of the world with these things and focus on my immediate surroundings, and I find that 2024 has been a good year for me

I found a new job and got promoted in just 4 months. I moved in with the most wonderful girl in the world. I moved to another country and met a bunch of new friends. I (mostly) beat my depression, started working out. I've grown a lot this year, with many major milestones. 2024 was alright for me

Now for 2025. No clue what it'll bring, and no doubt the world will get worse before it gets better, but since I can't control that, I'll focus on what I can control. Continue to win at work, continue building my life in Ireland, maybe get engaged (who knows?) and much more. I'm ready for 2025

You ever have an interaction with someone whose timeline shows massive similarity to you in terms of views, but they're so delusional on one particular topic you question your entire world view for agreeing with someone so deluded? Asking for a friend

What I'm really hating about reporting on AI is the constant fear mongering about AI super intelligence wiping out humanity. Guys, we worked out how to make computers talk like humans 2 years ago after working on it since the 50's. It's a parlor trick. I say this as I work on a leading AI project

Is it just me or has Duolingo gotten worse lately? I've got a streak of nearly 1300 days, but I'm stuck in a lesson that seems to deliberately ask me stuff I've been never been taught, which doesn't happen during my premium trials. I feel like they're making it too hard until I pay
