Utunu

Lots of new followers, so... Hi! I'm Utunu, I write LGBTQ+ fantasy and science fiction. I have two books out currently: 'Rafts', a romantasy (18+) novella; and 'Far Flung', a science fiction novel. You can learn more about them on Goodreads, and they are available at mapakuvillage.com (and others)!

Seeing the BioWare shutdown really saddens me. I spent 13 years there, where I got to do a lot of interesting work with a lot of amazing people. Feels like the end of an era. :(

Lol, I love this! :)

Have you read 'Far Flung' or 'Tethers Torn'? You may be interested to hear the draft of the third and final book of the trilogy is done, and I hope to have it out early next year! The first two are available at my website mapakuvillage.com, and this month they're 10% off with code FBM10. :)

Pre-orders for ebooks and paperbacks are live on my site! Order one now so you can get it delivered before anyone else. Official release is November 4. joaquinbaldwin.com/products/wings-of-the-wayfarers-ebook

Thank you both for the lovely review! <mindhug>

Oh no! It's a spooky review for Far Flung! :)

Hey all! I've been woefully lax about promoting my stuff, so... Here are my books! You can currently get them for 10% off at my Square site with code FBM10 (mapakuvillage.square.site/s/shop) all this month. So now's a good time to pick one up if you've been considering it. :)

Today is the day! Scars of the Golden Dancer is finally available on Audible! This is the first of many platforms I'll be releasing the book on. Thank you to @khaki.dog for his amazing recording.

New book, new book! The Stumble Inn is a gay slice-of-life novella about lost loves, navigating complex relationships, and finding oneself. Also hot painted dogs. Mmm... Paperback, hardcover, and eBook versions all available from @doppelfoxxpublishing.com: doppelfoxxpublishing.com/products/the...

It's release day!!! I'm so excited to share this book with everyone. Big thank yous to @gabefoxx.bsky.social, @hackfurs.com for his fantastic artwork, and my writing group (@nighteyes.bsky.social, @utunu.bsky.social, @domusvocis.bsky.social, @slip-wolf.bsky.social) for their invaluable feedback ❤️.

Just finished Tethers Torn by @utunu.bsky.social! Such a satisfying sequel—it builds on the first book (which I loved) and explores the characters and their different relationships in ways that work for both the world(s) of the story and for me as reader. Really excited for the third book!

I'm hosting a furry fiction reading activity at Camp Feral this weekend! I loved all of this year's Coyotl award short story nominees, and I'm super excited to share them with folks at camp and hang out reading together 🤓🐾

It's been (almost) one year to the day since Gravitational Pull was released. What a journey it's been! If you're a fan of gay furry romance, you can pick it up from @bewerebooks.bsky.social: Paperback: bewere.net/product.php?... Digital: bewere.net/product.php?... Both: bewere.net/product.php?...

Anyone else breeding weasels in the hopes that another run through the LHC will fix this timeline?

Hey hey. :) I'm Utunu, and I write fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction, often with some romance elements. Currently working on the final novel of my science fiction trilogy, full of fennecs, hyenas, psionic powers, and curry!

2026 book #13: Far Flung by @utunu.bsky.social. Really fun, smart, furry, queer scifi adventure. The book's heart is the strong & fun relationship btw the three main characters; the worldbuilding of two small, interdependent, multispecies colonies hits interesting themes. Looking fwd to the sequel!

Recently finished Far Flung by @utunu.bsky.social and really enjoyed it! The three main characters are so well drawn & their relationships develop in a fun & interesting way. The worlds & colonies in which their multi-species story plays out are well written & play with expectations in ways I liked.

Now available in eBook: The Iron Ark by @slip-wolf.bsky.social with a stunning cover by @slatedragon.bsky.social baddogbooks.com/product/the-...

If you were unable to pick up a hard copy of Far Flung, Tethers Torn, or Rafts (because we ran out), @utunu.bsky.social has ordered more and we're expecting them soon! Find them at mapakuvillage.com. You can even let him know if you want your copy signed! #nightowlmisfits #mapakuvillage #boooooooks

Back from Anthrocon as of 1:30 last night, finally! I wanted to say thank you to all of you who came to my (and others') writing panels, and especially to those of you who expressed appreciation for my books! <3 And to those of you who bought my books, thank you much for your support!

I'll be at AC starting tomorrow! I don't have a table, but there'll be a few books at my wife's table (N19, check out her crochet!). I'm also doing five writing panels (Settings, Dialogues, Characters, Writing Groups, and Science Fiction) where I'll pretend I know what I'm doing. Come say hi!

Things are rough right now, but you made it to Pride month! Remember, love how you want to love, love who you want to love, and happy pride! Art is by @keihound.bsky.social.

So many people that embrace AI, not just the techbros, but regular folks too... they remind me of marks in a mentalist's show. They see things that seem like they could be correct or apply to their situation and wedge those approximations into their misplaced trust and belief.

I don't normally post personal stuff, but... proud parent post. :) My son graduated from university today, magna cum laude! <3

Coyotl short story #3: Among the Upright Ones by @utunu.bsky.social. I'm torn: I want to talk all about this great story I enjoyed & yet also want to discuss it only obliquely, so others get to discover its exploration of unexpected and complex and irreversible transformation as the story unfolds 💯

This award belongs to the entire fellowship of those who share and tell stories at the fireside. It is physically located in only one place, but we know how to use stories to make that irrelevant. Thank you, all of you, for writing for, reading for, and listening to the Voice of Dog.

I've sung my praises a million times and i'll sing them a million more, I wouldn't be writing my own novels if it wasn't for Far Flung by @utunu.bsky.social! If you love gay psionic fennecs, nerdy hyenas and a splash of sci-fi, I highly recommend checking it out! <mindhug>

Today we present “The Fourth Death” a poem by @utunu.bsky.social. #FurryLit #Poetry

New book review of Tethers Torn by @utunu.bsky.social! "An intriguing follow up to Far Flung that dares to dive deeper into dramatic territory while while still maintaining the borderline slice-of-life vibes that make this series so special." #FurryWriting #FurryLit #Booksky
