Every once in a while I'll hear what sounds like fireworks in the distance during an unusual hour or time of year. And every time, for almost a decade now, my immediate thought is "Did it happen??"

PDX folks, I'll be giving a free talk about how to make a graphic novel! I'll also be sharing some info about CCS and their workshops, certificate and MFA programs. Free and open to the public! (Please note masks are required at the IPRC). Hope to see you there!

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!

WiaC has recently reached its 15th chapter, marking the halfway point of the series! To celebrate, I've been working the last few weeks on this: nearly everyone who's appeared in WiaC to date, in a parody of the greatest rock album of all time: The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!
