Having deployed with multiple Marine Special Operations Teams (MSOTs) in Helmand during 2012-2013. This person is grossly underselling the capabilities of CF staff. The dining area is like a tardis, menu is like a phone book, and they serve booze.

Tangential to the Cheesecake Factory talk is that their workers are genuinely elite tier 1 operators in the food service industry. I have a friend who manages bars and restaurants and he will instantly hire anyone with Cheesecake Factory experience. They are like the Marines minus the war crimes

So just to recap, yesterday the SecDef announced that Newt Gingrich 83, who avoided serving during Vietnam by STUDYING MILITARY HISTORY and Elon Musk, who AVOIDED THE DRAFT IN SOUTH AFRICA BY EMIGRATING TO CANADA, will help him plan the future of the U.S. Military. #ClownShoes6

I can’t wait for the president’s announcement of the coalition to reopen the strait of Hormuz. I assume it will include notable maritime powers Uganda, Hungary and Bolivia. To those in harm’s way, stay safe.

Instead of watching the State of the Union address you could have watched the entirety of ‘Casablanca’, ‘Field of Dreams’ or any of the first four ‘Fast and Furious’ movies, and your time would probably be better spent.

Middle aged white men (and I’m 49, so I’m in the demographic) absolutely need ridiculous Dad Hobbies or they get squirrely. I think if you’re can’t prove you have a preexisting Dad Hobby or 2 by age 45, you get entered into a national hobby draft and get assigned one. It would solve so many things.

ICE out of Minnesota NOW.

This is the Greenlandic and Danish Foreign Ministers sharing a smoke after meeting with JD Vance and I would 100% watch a 10-episode Netflix series where this pair hunt a serial killer north of the arctic circle.

ABC news announced they are shutting down 538. Coincidentally, this occurred the day after Trump’s net approval rating went negative on 538’s polling aggregator. In December, ABC news also agreed to pay $15M to settle a defamation case brought by the president. Disney is the parent company of ABC.

A cologne for men over 40. Call it “Experience” and it’ll smell like book leather, pipe tobacco, & single-malt whiskey. With hints of Icy-hot, stale coffee, a McDonald’s hash brown that’s been in your car seat for 6 months and a fart you just don’t care enough to hold in anymore.

There are 99 names on the Memorial Wall at USAID Headquarters in the Ronald Reagan Building. The corresponding CIA memorial at Langley commemorates only 140 fallen, despite being twice the size and having 15 more years of history than USAID.

I would not suggest that USAID is beyond reproach. I myself have been critical of some of the organization’s practices, but I never questioned their intent, because, like most civil servants, they never did anything other than try and complete the mission given to them by Congress and the President

Many of these people risked, and many lost, their lives in this endeavor. If this is truly the end of USAID, the face of America to millions suffering around the globe for six decades, than these men and women deserve far better than to be slandered as a “criminal organizatio

This is the grift. Trump makes some ridiculous noise and then claims he negotiated a deal. That way he takes credit for Biden Administration accomplishments on the border.

Most Government functions are utterly incomprehensible to the current generation of billionaires, because they involve foreign concepts such as integrity, transparency, and serving the public interest.

In my government position, in four years of the Biden administration, I never received any guidance directing me not discuss any topic, not matter how sensitive. In the past two weeks I have received no guidance except various things I am not allowed to say.

What if every year the president gave the Medal of Freedom to like the five folks who paid the most personal taxes. They get to be reminded how rich they are and we get the money they would otherwise hide in shelters.

Just for the record, if a 2nd Lieutenant were found to be drunk on duty, credibly accused of sexual assault or relieved for cause for financial malfeasance, any of those would be career enders.

Over president elect Trump’s objections, the flag on all US federal buildings both in the United States and overseas will be at half lower for the next 30 days. I will admit this: only Trump could pick a fight with a deceased hundred year-old peanut farmer and lose.

Four years ago this tweet predicted that the trend towards greater moderation we saw from social media was largely the result of the 2020 election results rather than any new wisdom or patriotism within corporate America. Today Meta removed fact checking and largely proved her right.

I think it’s telling that most of the civil rights advancements of the 1960s and 70s came with the lurking specter of left-wing or radical minority violence, largely absent since 1980. Like, we don’t need to start using the guillotines, but maybe we need to prove we still know how to build one.

I’m not pro extrajudicial killings, but I’m also not afraid of Luigi Mangione. I’m at least 9,900,000 a year away from being afraid of Luigi Mangione and, for the record, I’ve been shot at for a lot less than I make right now. Really, you only need to fear the blue shell if you’re in first place.

Despite the fact <10% of Syria is Christian, the interim government declared DEC 25 & 26th as national holidays. That is, they chose to honor the day Christians celebrate the birth of the Jew who is mentioned more than any other human in the Quran. Maybe getting along is easier than we make it look
