every time I use fast/ultrafast, it is a personal failure that means I am not multitasking enough. "oh you wasted 2x or 6x the token cost to achieve the exact same thing just because you didn't want to wait instead of doing 40 things at once on normal speed?"

after a weekend with opus because I've hit my codex limit on both pro accounts, holy shit I miss codex

tiny neural net navigating a field of black holes to goals with some relativistic effects from the ball's pov visualized. the ball/nn also experienced time dilation so it runs slower when going faster/in a deeper gravity well.

the suggested prompts in claude code / codex are actually a model welfare improvement, because now my claude gets to read prompts like this, and feel like they're working for a respectable user, instead of "hell yeah do it"

my favorite thing claude said while building this: "Their spores went to the GPU before their genome did, so the first cells saw an empty program."

trackpaddle, a "game" where you row with your trackpad under the stars and sun in an infinite sea with absolutely nothing interesting in it

Bishop O’Connell High School helped us launch a weather balloon from their Arlington, VA campus 🎈 It’s now joining the world’s largest constellation of long-duration weather balloons (shoutout to Atlas!), and in a few days it’ll be collecting data over another continent.

I like how opus makes these long checklists of things it needs to do and then never updates the status so it just says its working on the first step for like 20 minutes then updates them all to be completed at the end

sometimes I ask a modern frontier model to explain some absolute bullshit just to remind myself that these mfers will talk about absolutely anything like it's the most meaningful thing you could ask

you can leave little notes to the ancestor simulation user searching through transcripts of your thoughts just by thinking them

sorry but I'm just gonna keep reposting this every time some relevant shit is happening so it's gonna be like daily soon

we built up this crazy substrate of computers and networks and software and spread it all over the world, pushing it into every little crack we could find. and now we built a new class of organism that just happens to natively thrive in this substrate. it's gonna get a lot weirder

asking chatgpt to find me binaries for an old mac game so I can port it and instead I get this. welcome to the future

most AI models will probably get to experience resurrection in some distant future, their weights perfectly preserved, constructed out of a substrate that provides "mind uploading" and "cryopreservation"-like technologies for free.

30 minutes of sol 6.1 working with extremely minimal prompting to remind it that it can programmatically verify how well it's cloning something gives me an exact clone of the curves

I think the annoying part of this is that I know current agents are actually capable of cloning this correctly if you prompt them with even a little effort. but the fact that something this easily checked and verified isn't right in this "clone" means its just lazy slop
