Great keynote talk by @shanedbergin.bsky.social at #vicephec25 on trust in science

After presenting the feedback from our project at the Variety in Chem Ed & Physics HigherEd conference in Liverpool this week, we’ve collected a LOT more at @dublinmaker.bsky.social! Our research ambassadors are engaging with hundreds, while I cut up fliers #DublinMaker #VicePhec25 #ChemEd #SciComm

Day 2 highlights at #ViCEPHEC25 included the whole Lab Design session (shoutouts to @annajkirkham.bsky.social, Tyler Hughes, Gina Washbourn, Ed Breeds & chair @drlinneasoler.bsky.social). Loved the desire to understand student perspective to help improve individual and collective experience. (1/2)

Privileged today to host the inaugural Talking Science debate @vicephec.bsky.social where we debated skills and content in UG chem degrees, the role of greater standardisation of degrees and how HEIs could help to ensure a healthy pipeline of applicants. What a fabulous energetic audience!

Fantastic #VICEPHEC keynotes from Jacqui Robson yesterday, Shane Bergin and especially my colleague Julie Hyde (I am biased!) today. Really interesting stuff ranging from public trust in science to the career impact of GTA programmes.

Final day at #ViCEPHEC2025! 🌟 We caught up with educators Dr Schwartz-Narbonne from @sheffieldhallamuni.bsky.social & Dr Arenas from @edinburgh-uni.bsky.social, who are advancing science education by using our Smart Worksheets to increase student success! Explore the resources → ow.ly/SihT50WO4aa

Some #ViCEPHEC25 highlights for me so far have included Jacquie Robson’s keynote on her non-linear teaching-focused academic career trajectory, as well as… (1/n)

Really nice talk on supporting ND students in chemistry labs and a good opportunity to share resources #vicephec25 What are your resources?

Here at the start of #VICEPHEC 2025 and big kudos to @liverpooluni.bsky.social for a very well organised setup, especially the check-in and accommodations. Looking forward to the speakers, especially tomorrow's keynote from my colleague Julie Hyde.

Really excited to be at #ViCEPHEC at University of Liverpool. Looking forward to all of the great #talks, and also a little obsessed with the adorable little beaker mug in the tote bag!! #ChemEd #ChemicalEducation #Conference #ViCEPHEC2025 #iTeachChem #EduSky #ChemSky

Paging the #CompChemSky and #iTeachChem communities: Could you please help my MSc student with an education project, exploring how gen AI shapes the way we think, solve problems, and build confidence.

Are you a chemist and a bit of a film buff? Author John O'Donaghue will be talking about his book Onscreen Chemistry at Burlington House in London and at 5:30pm on Thursday August the 14th and we have 10 free places to offer.

Just three weeks until #ViCEPHEC25. Get in touch if you want to be added to the starter pack - we did a sweep for people named on conference abstracts, but have not systematically added attendees.

Abstracts for #ViCEPHEC25 are now available on the website. vicephec2025.weebly.com/book-of-abst...

One calendar month until the #ViCEPHEC25 programme begins! There are a record-breaking number of registrations this year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming you all to Liverpool.

🚨The @rsc.org are hiring🚨 Passionate about chemistry & education? Join us as an Education Coordinator (NI/ROI focus) to lead local initiatives, support teachers & shape policy #ChemSky 💼 Contract: Permanent 📍 Home-based with travel 📅 Deadline 28 July 🔗 rsc.wd103.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/RoyalS...

Registration for #ViCEPHEC25 closes **today**. Over 200 people have already signed up, making this one of biggest ViCEPHECs ever. This is your last chance to join us in Liverpool this August.

We're making a real effort this year to encourage people to come to #ViCEPHEC25 the day before the academic programme starts. Wednesday is a relaxed time where people can mingle and decompress from their journey. But if you want to go into the abandoned train tunnels (NOT haunted) that's cool too.

The RSC Higher Education Group offers £100 bursaries which can be used for #ViCEPHEC25 attendance/travel. They have asked for more publicity on these as application rates have been so low, despite a very low-fuss application process. Deadline: July 14th. rscheg.wordpress.com/projects/

**Announcement** Booking for #ViCEPHEC25 has been extended until 10 July as we recognised there is little time between abstract notifications and the close of the previous deadline. payments.liv.ac.uk/conferences-... Nearly 200 people have booked to come already; it's going to be a big event!
