Wow, this is beautifully done. Encourage library & archive folks to take 20 minutes to explore this story and learn more about Indigenous cultural heritageโ€”there's a lot here that's new to me! ๐Ÿ“š

Library Futures@libraryfutures.bsky.social

Travel across North America learn how the efforts of a new generation of digital librarians are returning indigenous knowledge to its rightful stewards. See The Map That Roared and much more in this digital story from LF intern Thomas Gagnon-van Leeuwen. www.libraryfutures.net/post/indigen...

Especially want to recommend this for cataloging & metadata folksโ€”the story highlights Indigenous classifications, vocabularies, and Traditional Knowledge labels. ๐Ÿ“š #critcat

Not to brag, but I got to work with Thomas on this stellar project on Indigenous libraries, classification, preservation, and more! It's eye-opening AND gorgeous. Please click through! ๐Ÿ“š

Yes, agree that we should talk about this more. Library folks have had to figure out different ways to maintain and/or pay off these loans. For me, it took moving cross country, then into a library admin role and a spouse deployment to pay my balance I had since 2014. It shouldnโ€™t be like this.

The only reason I was able to get my info sci degree was because I had the option to take classes as part of my work bennies. This is going to cause a lot of people that would become innovators and leaders in this field to not ever be able to enter it.

because it is relevant to my work, I have tried very hard to educate myself on how AI works, be fair and measured in how I evaluate it, and regularly test new tools to confirm or debunk my priors and tbh AI haters are just nailing it with less work like 99% of the time. keep at it folks

Tom Emmer is manufacturing outrage not just against our Somali community but also putting @repilhan.bsky.social 's life and citizenship at risk and the @startribune.com is his willing tool. Once Ilhan Omar's citizenship is called into question, ANYONE'S can be.

Before Rep. Tom Emmer accused Minnesota journalists of ignoring the threat of โ€œSomali gangsโ€ in July 2025, the phrase had appeared zero times in Star Tribune crime coverage dating back to January 2020. Since then, it has appeared 56 times.

Musk would do this through those f*cking Trump Accounts they opened in every child's name without parental consent. I HATE these SO much. Parents cannot close the accounts. Parents cannot reject donations to the accounts. And we must hold on to donations for at least 5 years. I'm a state lawmaker.
