10 years ago since I was doing this. At the time I think I was writing a dissertation and looking for distraction.

Day off today. There needs to be a website dedicated to "Middle Aged Men Days Out", like they have for "Family Days Out". I'd like a central list of: -Museums with big engines/ vehicles. -Hardware/gadget shops where you can still browse. -Good walks with notable historical POIs. Should I make one?

Nice little trip to Armley Mills. The water wheel could do with some attention, but otherwise worth a visit.

I'll often take the kids to places like this, but they don't have the attention span to read all the information. I think I might do a museum today "solo".

I keep hearing on the radio that all my favourite albums are 30 years old. That can't be right.

1997 was probably even more seminal for me. Portishead, Fat of the Land, OK Computer, Blur... and that was only a couple of years ago.

Admittedly, I've had 3 careers, 2 wives, 3 children (one turning 20 this year) in that 2 year period. It's been busy.

1996. Started uni at Newcastle. We went to see Beck's Odelay tour at the Mayfair. We all got t-shirts printed with a different song name on. I think I was Hotwax.
