Hey @pocketcasts.com, my notifications are all off and have always been. Why the FUCK did I have a red dot on my profile and a bunch of bullshit tips and tricks notifications I didn’t ask for? You really seem to be pushing me toward canceling Plus after all these years

I think this is symptomatic of empathy burnout. So many people deserve a little of your energy and the bad in the world just keeps metastasizing and eventually you hit a wall. This is just your wall and it’s not an unfair one

maybe all this indicates is that I'm uptight where compassion goes! which would be accurate. I don't have a lot of the stuff to spread around!

According to some who met him, the dude had a cutesy way of saying “that’s my totenkopf!” when asked about it! He’s probably not a literal Nazi, but he sure does seem like a shit human with shit decision quality, which means he’d make a shit senator

January 3, 2026: Today I am thinking about Rambo for the NES, another game I played at my mom’s friend’s. I was never very good at it, and I think tried to play it as a teenager in an NES emulator, but still wasn’t very good at it. I should give it one more try and save (state)-scum my way through

When you’re getting facts from an unreliable narrator whose primary unreliability is that it wants to please you no matter what, you’re looking at sycophancy at best, delusion at worst. There are no good outcomes

I don't use LLMs for a host of reasons, but one that's way up there is how much interacting with one of the chatbots feels like being in an evangelical Christian space to me on some molecular level I can't pin down. Too much attempting to placate me, not enough actual pushback.

Despite knowing what he looks like, I had a whole conversation with Dave Matthews at the Apple Store where I worked without knowing who he was. As he walked away, my coworkers got all weird about it lol

I’ve tried so many email clients, but I think pinned tabs in Firefox fir Gmail and iCloud are going to be the way forward. Both are native interfaces and super responsive, certainly more so than Thunderbird

Remember folks: if you have any small amount of artistic talent, any sex appeal, or can make your friends laugh, the richest man on earth is crying screaming throwing up because he can’t be you.

I’ve held off canceling my WaPo sub because everyone always says I should support the regular journalists there doing good work, but…. I’m out.

Bezos basically did to the Washington Post exactly what Elon Musk did to Twitter

It is increasingly clear that this man’s plan to leave our planet includes destroying it

The most craven part of this is the way Sam Altman obsequiously praised and credited Trump when he announced it

Peter Baker@peterbakernyt.bsky.social

That $100 billion AI deal Trump claimed credit for? It's actually been in the works since at least March, 10 months before Trump returned to the White House. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

I’m 6’4” and will help when asked 100 times out of 100. I find reaching tall spots flat-footed to be delightful and helping someone who needs it costs me nothing

My husband sent me this and I'm wondering why she's still upset when it sounds like the person accepted her no and went to get someone else for help. Are tall people really that offended if a shorter person asks for help? Because I will ask tall people if something is out of reach

good fuckin luck dude

Justin Baldoni, the director and co-star of the film “It Ends With Us,” and his publicists sued The New York Times, claiming the news organization defamed them in an article about allegations by Blake Lively, his co-star, that she had been the victim of a smear campaign.

Wife LOVES all of the football documentaries, so even knowing what we were in for, wanted to give the Aaron Rodgers one a try. First episode was mildly hagiographic, but fine and an interesting reminder of his arrival and the Favre nonsense. Then, RFK Jr. showed up in the second ep, and we were out
