They’re going to keep pushing until something stops them.

Deeply concerning: US citizen lawyer getting detained and his phone searched on reentering the U.S. at Customs. www.freep.com/story/news/l...

80 years ago today: Marines raise the flag on Iwo Jima. We in the pro-democracy camp fight for the America that won World War II, and for the America that after the war worked to further advance the American idea. We know what side we would have been on 80 years ago, and what side we're on today.

Jasmine Crockett: "The problem is that Americans thought it was okay to take a full fledged criminal and make him the President of the US and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things. Let me tell you, we have a thug in charge of the US and if we don't wake up we may not have a US"

I'm so down with this!

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

It is beyond me why this isn't the number one issue in our country right now. This is why what's happening in the Senate is so critical.

“Orbán used law as a weapon against democracy. He consolidated power…giving orders directly to the bureaucracy, which he had reconstructed by changing civil service law…Orbán’s was accompanied by aggressive use of libel actions…He packed the courts with loyalists.” www.nytimes.com/2025/01/15/o...

Now I know nothing is sacred in my country. Speaker Johnson has ordered flags to be raised to full staff for Trump's inauguration. Didn't we just bury President Carter? A man of unquestionable grace, intelligence, and character? But a whiney fat orange baby is coddled again. Dear God help us all.

I'm crushed to realize this is true. As a high school senior I toured parts of this building about 55 years ago. I wish everyone could share my historical perspective to understand how devastating George Conway's observation is.

True.

Thank you Congresswoman Crockett!

Crockett: It was my ancestors that built the White House. If we have been good enough to build this country, we are good enough to serve in other ways. Stop trying to act as if only white men are the ones that are capable because you’re sitting with 3 very capable black women

Canadian MP Charlie Angus: The message I’m hearing from people across Canada is this: they’re not afraid of you. They know you’re a convicted felon. They know that the people you’re bringing in to run your, let’s call it an “organization” rather than a government, are grifters, thieves, and thugs.

No one was more razor sharp in his observations about America than James Baldwin.

It’s vital that Senators Collins and Murkowski not be allowed to put a cap on how many of Trump’s outrageous nominees they oppose: Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, RFK Jr, Kash Patel and their ilk must ALL be opposed. Otherwise Trump’s transparent Flood the Zone gambit will drown us all — and our kids!

AOC: His work inside and outside of this building was a masterclass in how to speak truth to power and keeping our country together. Elijah Cummings dedicated his life to preserving American democracy, a fight that will be even more prevalent in the years to come.

You are up to date.
