VICTORY: A federal court just put the chainsaws down at East Potomac Park
The plan was to turn a public park into a private tournament course for Trump & wealthy golfers. The trees stay while we fight it out in court
@democracydefendersfund.org & partners are on the case 👇- TN
TL;DR: A judge has issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting NPS from further work on Hains Point because their justification for doing so is transparently nonsense and clearly an attempt to start work on the president's stupid golf course.
NPS took down ~500 trees at Hains Point on Saturday, without notifying a judge as they were instructed to do. There's an emergency hearing happening now that you can listen in on via the Court's public access dial-in line. The telephone number is 833-990-9400, and the access code is 787605272.
Don't miss the Hains Point Hoopla 3.0!
It's THIS SUNDAY (not saturday)! Meet 9:00 am West Potomac Park near field #4 for the bike parade, or 10:30 at Hains Point for excellent speakers.

⚠️ Service Alert ⚠️
We're aware that bike and dock availability may not be displaying accurately in the app right now and our team is on it. Thanks for your patience as we work to resolve the issue.
Looking a lot like the Trump Administration is actively ignoring a court order for them not to dismantle the 15th Street protected bike lane, although the paint remains.
Please accept our apologies if you had to ride into that headwind this morning.
Our weather machine is now part of a subscription service and wind is only included with the premium plan.
#BikeDC If you have signed our petition for protected bike lanes to the entirety of 11th St SE, now is a good time.
We're putting on the full court press to make this a reality and every signature helps.

ICYMI, we’ve heard now from several reliable sources that federal agencies may remove a substantial chunk of the 15th St NW protected bike lanes near the National Mall.
This is some BS.

The District of Columbia has experienced 8 traffic fatalities so far in 2026, compared to 25 in all of 2025. DC is on a pace for 60 fatalities this year. @mayorbowser.dc.gov@ddotdc.bsky.social, what actions are you taking?

Stay tuned for planned action.
And tell your friends outside of DC to call their Senators offices on Tuesday to alert them to this action that will hurt everyone that visits the National Mall

Technically, this would require a public input process, but we’ve all seen what happened to the East Wing of the White House.

🚲 The next few weeks will be busy with public meetings for four DDOT projects, a key Council hearing with DDOT Director Sharon Kershbaum, and a WABA meetup with Councilmember Doni Crawford. More at waba.org/2026/02/12/d... . Through it all, our focus is Safety First!
Hello! It's very icy out there. Don't drive or bike if you can avoid it. Roads are still icy, trails and bike lanes are in rough shape.
Also take it easy shoveling, this stuff is heavy!
Earlier today a driver killed a person crossing the street in downtown DC. Based on the wreckage, high speed was almost certainly involved.
The crash happens the same day Trump's Department of Transportation has begun an attempt to abolish speed cameras in DC.
Imagine if everything in 🟥 was a protected bike lane...
Biking on the Hill would be accessible for all ages and abilities!
This can be our reality if we fight for it. DDOT is taking comments on their strategic bike lane through 12/31.
