Sign of the times: Someone chalked “National Guard Stay Away” outside an early voting center in Columbia Heights. There have been local and national concerns around federal agents (or the National Guard in D.C.) appearing at or near polling places ahead of next week’s elections.

Some of the escalations we're seeing, including the attack on Ilhan Omar's home (I will not pretend this act was "investigatory"), are desperate acts. But we must remember that desperate people can be very dangerous. A domestic abuse victim, for example, is in the most danger when trying to leave.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

This is a gross abuse of power & the latest in a decade-long, racist smear campaign against a duly elected Black Congresswoman. Trump is a coward who is weaponizing his DOJ to fuel hate & intimidate opponents with baseless attacks like these, just like with Rep. McIver, Lisa Cook & Tish James.
