Canon Whitney spoke to the Small Church Conference of the Diocese of West Tennessee earlier this year and was fantastic. I'm sure she'll be a great Bishop. Can't wait to see her again next month at our Annual Convention!

The Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee elects Colin Ambrose. Bishop Ambrose has a nice ring to it. 😁⚓

If you are a Nashville history fan, your top priority at the Southern Festival of Books today should be T. Minton talking about The Belcourt followed by Ben Motherfucking Houston and Emily Yellin talking about Rev. James Lawson moderated by State Rep. Justin Jones.

Got this warning from Google Drive. The text in question was a list of people's names from a class I'm in. What?!?!

Next Monday night, you can either go to hear Peter Thiel talk about the Anti-Christ in downtown Nashville - or you can walk down the street to the Public Library to hear @bradleyonishi.bsky.social and I talk about Thiel - and Brad’s new book. There are just a few tickets left.

⚓ A former parishioner found this and took the time to send it to the church. It's about 120 years old. There's a prayer for the church on the back that all members are expected to pray every day.

⚓ Got to #touchpews at a place familiar to some of the other narthex folks today. (Yeah, they're chairs, not pews.)

⚓ We only have chairs in the chapel, so I can't do #touchpews but it's good to be in the house of the Lord for #morningprayer.

In the latest splashy media treatment, Christian dominionist pastor, Doug Wilson said, “We’re getting a respectful hearing. Maybe not a friendly hearing, but we’re getting a respectful one. And that is progress.” But his views are shameful. And that’s why I have issues with the ways he’s covered.

"This ministry is vital to the life and the future of the church. We celebrate you and we give thanks for you." - Sarah Mullally, Archbishop of Canterbury This week, we're celebrating all involved in ministry with children, young people, and their families. #RECOGNISE2026

Actually remembered to take a #touchpews pic today. One of the parishioners encouraged us all to sit down in front this morning. I'm not all the way up, but had a nice view of the font anyway.

Begging people to understand: while digging "exploratory" holes under a city is stupid anywhere it is insane in Nashville, TN, the absolutely peak of "sinkhole susceptibility" in the U.S. And the Boring Company - amazingly - does not understand this. This will not end well. wpln.org/post/nashvil...

⚓ The Archbishop says: I come knowing nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified, and in weakness and fear and in much trembling.

⚓Ideally, I'd have the opportunity have a party and watch this with friends, but it will have to be background while I work instead. Anyone else planning their morning around it?
