If you want to know why so much music sucks now, it’s because when there’s no bands, just random ‘solo’ singers and an anonymous army of producers and writers doing the work, this kind of shit never happens
About half of the really classic songs started by someone noodling on an instrument and someone in the room saying "Ooh, do that again!"

!!!!! Is this somehow the first thing Stevie has ever issued from his vault in his entire adult career? and extra points for releasing on a Monday instead of a fucking Friday. More of this please.
Woke up to the news that Stevie Wonder was surprise-dropping an EP of four outtakes from "Songs in the Key of Life": open.spotify.com/album/7gzJYO... Which is a bit like "oh, 'Nine Stories' was originally going to be 'Thirteen Stories,' here are the other four..."

'Wonder was 26 when Songs In The Key Of Life was released—at that point, he was absolutely on top of the world, the greatest soulman on earth whose magnificence overshadowed even rock and pop' Many Happy Returns to #StevieWonder's Songs In The Key Of Life, which turns 50 today! buff.ly/zD17vVM

LFG. Almost anything other than a data center would be more useful in the middle of a large city than a fucking nascar track.
Organizers from the group looking to end auto racing at Nashville’s fairgrounds turned in nearly 75,000 petition signatures Friday, likely ending one contentious campaign and beginning another. ✍️ @iamstevenhale.bsky.social

Well, this is one way to get me to care about Billy strings I guess
Trey and Billy Strings are coming together for two very special concerts benefiting Divided Sky Foundation on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21, at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Trey and Billy will perform together and be backed by Trey Anastasio Band.

I guess I’m just so cynical about billionaires in general that I think they are probably all under or should be under “investigation,” but nothing will ever happen to them regardless of whether they’re doing crimes because neither Dems nor republicans want to cut off the donor spigot.
Saying on national TV this was just a "business opportunity he couldn't say no to" seems pretty irresponsible by Ramona given the guy who just bought the team last year is under federal investigation for alleged tax crimes and is selling the team to someone with direct ties to the President.
Holy fuck is this actually true?? (I’ve been on the road and wasn’t home to watch last night’s ep)
Every time I have to go into a Buc-ees I think about the 30 minute main story @lastweektonight.com is inevitably gonna do on this ridiculous monument to unchecked american capitalism. I mean, the mascot alone is at least an 8 minute bit, right?

My housemate did what everyone said the "right" thing was. He went and got trained as a software engineer, then spent years going from an intern to being a senior dev. He was downsized 2.5yrs ago and *just* got a part-time job as a medical receptionist. There's no cheat code for this shitshow.
