I need my American mutuals to lock in here: all the talk about “Russia/Israel meddling in U.S. elections” loses meaning if you look away while your own government is openly meddling in Brazil’s. It’s 1964 all over again.

I finally watched Camp Miasma and didn’t like it at all, but Little Death reminded me so much of the Keeper from The Evil Within. Also, The Evil Within 2 has such an interesting villain, a photographer serial killer… wonder if Jane Schoenbrun has ever mentioned those games?!

I wrote this about Katharina Rabl's Memories of a Forest. #TIFF26

Walter Neto studies the connections between all of us in Katharina Rabl's MEMORIES OF A FOREST, a film that is at its strongest when it approaches one question only to uncover another #TIFF26 buff.ly/FCSvNL1

Walter Neto takes on a new identity in Grzegorz Dębowski's WHAT BELONGS TO OTHERS, a film in which people not only have failed to recognize one another, but seem to have lost the capacity to imagine that recognition might matter at all #Venezia83 icsfilm.org/festivals/ve...

I can’t stress enough how much the word masterpiece applies here. If you haven’t checked this out yet, you absolutely should. Anno is one of the finest Japanese directors working right now.

In honor of the passing of musician, actor, and Oscar winner Glen Hansard, Walter Neto takes a second look at 2007's ONCE, a film that shows that art itself is proof that life cannot, and perhaps should not, be reduced to survival alone buff.ly/085v9Ph

Heaven’s Story is a movie absolutely everyone should watch and no one will because who the hell has five miserable hours to commit to watching a broken child ruin the already shattered lives trapped in a murder revenge that isn’t even hers? (I am sorry for the current Naomi Kawase phase 😂)
