And there goes another weekend. Can't remember the last day off I had where I wasn't sick or exhausted or depressed or somehow still working.

I've been getting AI-generated scam emails offering me publishing contracts, all about the same book I have up on Amazon. The last ebook sale was pre-bubble so that means either some tech bro was holding onto that or someone bought one of MY books just to be taken apart and scanned.

These kinds of emails include a long, flowery description of the book and why the author (of the email) loved it. These also exist to convince you that they actually read/enjoyed the book. Because if there's one thing real editors at real publishers do it's email authors the plot of their own book.

The Hattori Hanzo sequence in Kill Bill is so perfect cus there's all this chatter about how THESE swords are special and he refuses to make another but she wants one. She needs one. I don't think we even see him make it. Visually, it's just a sword. What's the big deal?

Then she swings it around like it's a flyswatter and it cuts through an army of yakuza like they're nothing. Literally slices their limbs off and even cuts through their swords like butter. It might as well be magic and the lead up to it is perfect.

Fable tried to get rid of cutscenes, menus, and basically even items while driving a studio into the ground. The reboot is a mere months away. Mass Effect did nothing wrong and is probably gonna fade away like idk Chrono Cross?!

I've never played Street Fighter but I've watched the movie trailer like 50 times. I've been almost late to work countless times because I put it on when I'm supposed to be getting ready. I think it's the best trailer since Watchmen. Anyway, today I watched The Flash. That movie rules.

I can't believe the Steven Universe sequel series wasn't set just a few years later so it could have the most perfect title ever.

It was a bit of a pain doing these myself (with a lot of help from @dreamsarefragile.bsky.social) but it was worth it!

There's a bench in Skyrim that you can't sit on. You don't have to sit on ANY bench and doing so doesn't provide any anything. That makes it even weirder that, across the entire province filled with sittable benches, there is but 1 you cannot sit on.

It's also the bench in the inn in the most popular city in the game, meaning there is a good chance it's the bench most players are familiar with. And you can't sit on it.

This Cartoon Network leak and the reactions surrounding it really prove the same thing that Disney Channel leak made clear years ago. People WANT to see the creative process behind works. People WANT concept art, series bibles, character outlines, etc. They don't want AI to churn stuff out.

Read another piece about comics being for ‘reluctant readers’. On a related note, it was my son’s birthday the other day. He mostly reads comics & I got him a lot. I just did a rough tally of how many pages of comics were in his presents & it’s approx 5,100 pages. But, sure, ‘reluctant readers’.

Well, my employment just drastically changed, so I am now looking for freelance work. 📢 If you need a Senior Copywriter or a Comic Book Writer, I'd love to be considered. 📢 Email & portfolio: link in my bio. If possible, I would deeply appreciate any shares. Thank you!

Whenever people say "Hollywood is out of ideas" I used to respond, "No, you just keep watching remakes." But when I look at all the "new" anime getting announced and compare it to the current state of Shonen Jump... Yeah, someone is out of ideas.

I hate when Final Fantasy classes are called "Jobs." Like yeah lemme just clock in for my 8-hour shift of Warrioring. Gonna save the world from an evil religion today, but I get an hour for lunch.

I'm in a really weird worldbuilding rut that I've never been in before in my life - creating 10 countries (normal) while also making a list of dozens of names that people in those countries might have (wtf am I doing with my free time?)

Just installed GOG Galaxy for the first time since buying a new computer and I forgot I have 50+ free games I got from Amazon, some of which are like.... New Vegas.

Random thread of pictures of me for no reason.

Yesterday was picture day at school. I didn't have time to get an individual picture this year, but I am still happy with the ones from last year. All the other teachers just got a basic shot exactly like the kids. For some reason they took me around and gave me a mini photoshoot.
