one of the things i hate most about this persistent line of argument is the implication that any of these actions would be fine if groceries were cheaper

The White House is laser focused on threatening a military takeover of Greenland. Where’s the same focus on lowering costs?

Agent Mark Cruz of Altoona, WI (ID'd by wrist tattoo) has been seen transporting shackled kidnapping victims to Minneapolis St. Paul airport. He smiles while victims are loaded onto private flights to the SLIPC concentration camp in Louisiana. SLIPC survivors have sued over rampant sexual assaults.

As a candidate for Congress in #CA14, my full statement on the illegal U.S. strike against Venezuela. It's imperialism. It's colonialism. It's illegal. Congress must act now.

@dgoold.bsky.social good morning. I listened to your most recent BPIB. One issue that I think goes unaddressed in the discussion about stars moving to the coasts: don't the teams, and to a lesser extent the markets, in the middle have a duty to make their situations more attractive?

This is exactly right.

Dems can actually win the messaging battle, because people ALREADY associate Trump/Musk with shutting down the government *and* because the GOP controls both Houses. In the meantime, voting for this CR will do a LOT of damage.

i think shutting the government down is preferably to nullifying article i of the constitution

U.S. Senator John Fetterman@fetterman.senate.gov

The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics. Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession. I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

This, precisely, is what I think Dem voters want from their representatives: direct confrontation with people who are used to bullying others both as a matter of substance and style. You don't have to back down to these fucking clowns.

Texas Republican Keithself storms out of the meeting he's supposed to be running because a Democrat asked him to treat his colleague Sarah McBride with respect. These people would not last one day as a trans person.

After Green interrupted last night, another Democrat should have done the same thing. And then another, until all of them had to be removed. Delay the speech by a few hours. Or walk out en masse. Anything. Calling Trump an existential threat means nothing if you can’t meet the fucking moment.

Thank you to everyone who joined tonight's town hall and asked such thoughtful questions. Oregonians are terrified about what Trump's lawlessness means for them and for America. I'm focused on making sure Republicans will have to answer for how they're hurting you and your family.

Senator Ron Wyden@wyden.senate.gov

Reminder that instead of attending Donald Trump's first address to Congress tonight I'll be hosting an open-to-all town hall on Facebook live at 6 PM PT. You don't need a Facebook account – or to be an Oregonian – to tune in. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Supreme Court legalized bribery, took bribes themselves, and declared this was all just how democracy is supposed to work

SCOOP: Business leaders are paying as much as $5,000,000 to meet one-on-one with President Donald Trump at his Florida compound, sources tell WIRED, while others are paying $1,000,000 apiece to dine with him in a group setting.

Democrats should hold 435 town halls this weekend. The ones in Republican districts hosted by local Dems or nonpartisan local officials or even ex-Republicans, with everyone, Democrats and independents and Republicans, invited.

Politico@politico.com

The chair of the House GOP's campaign arm told Republican lawmakers to stop holding in-person town halls amid a wave of angry backlash over the cuts undertaken by President Donald Trump's administration.

They should resign, and the very public resignation letter should read “I have no intention of lying about our journalism in order to provide Paramount with a pretext for paying Donald Trump a bribe.” Which is transparently what this is.

Context for @murray.senate.gov in particular - one of the four times she has requested unanimous consent it was rejected! She proposed a condemnation of the J6 pardons and Sen. Barrasso said "I object" and then the senate did not condemn those pardons. That's how easy it is to object to UC.

@murray.senate.gov What are you doing?

Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social

Musk and Trump continue to burn down govt - slash and burn lives/jobs of 100s of thousands. Meanwhile Sen Rs continue to steamroll through Sen Democrats as Chuck Schumer remained “aroused” while going back and forth bw “strategic silence” and “strategic ambiguity.” Business as usual for Chuck. ↘️
