And preventing people from having a job is inhumane. No matter what the cost we should help people to live fulfilling lives and PIP is a tiny cost to benefit ratio.

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

Nearly half of people who apply for PIP are in work and use the funds to enable themselves to stay in work. Cutting PIP will add to the welfare budget as those people will no longer be able to stay in the work force.

How on Earth is that given as a personal foul against Green Bay? It was the Lions idiot who acted out and kicked the official and it's given against Green Bay? Fuck that. Pathetic officialing.

Something some might not like but honestly, the ability to go out and not have places reeking of cigarette smoke, to the level where I used to have to leave. It's so nice. Also coffee shops, I like coffee shops. And medical science is fucking amazing.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

If only ManUtd could get relegated and Jim prickface would lose a load of money. I mean I have nothing against ManU, they used to be great, but everyone in English football would like to see one of the 'big 6' relegated. If it's ManU then so be it.

It's spooky season so I'm watching Ghosts and What We Do in the Shadows again. I like witty scares. WWDitS is one of my main joys, the cast is so superb they could just bicker for whole episodes and it'd be the best telly. Oh wait...

Wtf is with the stupid narration over the Como biography by the BBC Match of the Day? Just have it pitched at normal volume, it's a fucking football club not an M&S advert.

I think my dogs and more intelligent than this opinion.

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

Dogs have been bred to be permanent adolescents. All dog owners are complicit in a millennia old eugenics program that has made domesticated dogs developmentally delayed.

The state of this. Just read a fucking book and learn some awareness. It's just embarrassing to spout such drivel.

Sandy Hendry@sandyhendry.bsky.social

Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

Why are countries so worried about taxing the wealthy? If they leave they're hardly paying any taxes or spending their vast wealths anyway. Their companies have to keep interacting with rich countries anyway so those can't leave. If the wankers all end up in some tax haven so what? Tax the fuckers!

I'm always surprised when people seem to think all you talk about with your partner is what happened during the day. Seems like a dull relationship to me.

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

Once you've got grown up kids, any holiday with your partner should alternate one day together, one day apart otherwise what the fuck have you got to talk about in the evening?

Who would have thought that a transphobe would be so openly racist and right wing? Well, all of us who know what terfism is would have. Sorry to post something from the other side but this feels somewhat important.

This is an MP and they can't even cope with a debate they started. 1) She said it was a mixed sex ward, any upset for her mother was her mother's bigotry. 2) Treatment should be based on condition, not biological sex. 3) Statistics is a bad route to go down, as racial treatment stats are far worse.

flyingrodent@flyingrodent.bsky.social

It would IMO be better if MPs had not utterly deranged their own brains on Twitter dot com, wildly radicalising themselves and each other.

I know bigotry is everywhere but you really wish it didn't exist in the health service. Problem is in a service that employs so many it was bound to exist, I just wish it wasn't backed up by legal and governmental bigotry.

Personally I used a library paid for by the state from taxation. Something that's not always guaranteed anymore. But still, philanthropy is a broken system, I can name a number of philanthropic things done by rich pricks, but it's not acceptable.

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

It's amazing how many of us remember benefitting from Carnegie libraries when younger yet in a time of trillionaires and billionaires we couldnt name one philanthropic contribution to society.

Nothing good can come from this. Even if she's eviscerated it'd just allow her to be the victim rather than the rancid perpetrator of bigotry. If anything this is worse than anything being made from her limited works. www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/...

bbc.co.ukTwo-part documentary on J.K. Rowling announced by BBC Factual and BBC ScotlandThe documentary will use her life as a lens through which to explore three decades of profound social, political and technological change

What a weird thing to say. You're not doing a family history to communicate with anyone, it's just an interesting piece of social history. And a fun way to prove you were the descendant of a murderer or whatever. You can still talk to your neighbours too...

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

Family history is nonsense. Go back any further than 100 years and you have more in common with your next door neighbour than any of these people. Take the effort to make a connection with those who are still alive instead.

On what level are Reform okay with AI? Do they imagine AI as a white male? Because I have news for them, AI is a non-human intelligence. Surely this is the ultimate 'Other' that they should be fighting.

Canal Boat Diaries is just enjoyable low intensity telly. Whoever had the idea to make this, hats off to them, well I suppose it was Robbie Cumming (a star), but commissioning it for telly was a great thing. It's a great way to decompress, if you accept that term without getting triggered.

Football is a pantomime, I've thought this for ever. It's a lovely pantomime but still, as a spectator it's incredibly cathartic to be there, booing and cheering. All that being said, can all clubs please play Sham 69 when ManCity take the field for every away game from now on. Thanks.

Ridiculously good album anniversary. Go on, go find it and listen to it all. It's full of amazing songs from first to last. Man on the Moon is my favourite but bloody hell, it's all so good it's unreal. One of the greatest albums ever.

Released on this day in 1992… share your favorite song in the comments.

90% of all the articles I edit have been partially created with AI now. Honestly it's improved the English of the articles massively in general. I know it's going to take my job in about 5-10 years but in the meantime it's sped my work up no end. Which is good as I've not had a pay rise in 15 years.

The News Quiz is always worth listening to at the minute because of Zaltz but fucking hell who books Daniel Finkelstein? He's rancid so many times over and he's not funny. He just isn't. Even Rifkind is occasionally amusing. I know it's hard to find a funny T(t)ory but just stop it already.

The baseball is on the BBC this evening. Thank fuck for that, I was getting sport withdrawal because of this ridiculous international break for a trophy that's just fucking tarted up friendlies.
