Go see Wildwood. Seriously, don’t wait—go see Wildwood. What a piece of art. The love for the manual craft, for story that doesn’t hold back, for filmmaking that is not here to answer to stockholders, it weaves all through it. Incredible stuff.

i'm seeing people starting to blame wildwood's marketing for its opening numbers. 1. it's only been the first weekend 2. i've been seeing it advertised EVERYWHERE, more so than laika's past films and with genuine affection for the art form 3. word-of-mouth is immense so don't pull that card.

i find the 'i'm just hearing about it today' and 'i didn't even know it was out' arguments hard to believe. seriously. this film's marketing has been active since early summer.

the new ‘street fighter’ movie was total campy mayhem and i genuinely had a ball with it. it’s everything the 1994 movie wishes it was. 3.5 hadoukens out of 5. sorry critics and cinephiles that this wasn’t a fine wine but there’s like 3 indie films a month nowadays. i think you’ll live.

so far the best one i have is the regular show complete series. all the trays are thick and resilient and have spacious hubs that hold two discs each with no looseness at all.

i’m quite tired of really good original movies bombing and then weird armchair critics celebrating their failure despite those movies being what they’ve been incessantly demanding more of.
