Hey producers, if you really desire to improve, I cannot stress copying/transcribing songs enough. It will give you insight of how a good song is made, as well as musical muscle memory. It'll expand your horizons, in other words. Especially to people that barely experienced this. #dtm #vgm

If you're struggling to hear a lot of pitches though, maybe start by getting familiar with pitches by playing notes, and take pitch tests first? And then you could move on to transcribing isolated instrument tracks, in case hearing multiple instruments at once is still difficult.

If you're completely confused while composing something, solid foundations are necessary, which you can get by digging deep into songs, as well as transcribing. We all learn by copying bits & pieces. I'm not saying you need to copy the entire song, even some bits will help give big insight.

God, the audio mastering tutorials I find on the internet are so all over the place - I can't find what's crucial. I think I have the gist of mastering, but do I really need to do more complicated things? #dtm #musicproduction

It's difficult to describe the style of a good chunk of demoscene module songs at the time. While some are straight-up DnB/techno, others resemble synthpop songs but also not TOO similar. By these modules, I mean MOD, XM, IT format. #chiptune #demoscene #dtm

This is solidly made, especially for a one-week game jam submission. Creative turn-based mechanics that affect your decision, but also the progression felt smooth, and you got lots of tower varieties that I actually found fun and diverse.

I really don't want to be around people that make violent threats or death wishes. Even if some people do horrible things, me stooping down low to dangerous levels will just make me miserable - it's triggering. I don't want to normalize that.

I hate that trying to pick the right instrument or sample for a song I make can be time-consuming. *plays one instrument to test it* "That doesn't sound right" *plays another* "That doesn't sound right either" *plays another* "Looks like that one works out well"

I'm surprised seeing some people pumping out decent music so frequently. As someone that gets burned out easily, as well as having trouble to make progress when there's no purpose or I'm lost, it's difficult for me to pump out stuff super often, even if I have a to-do list.
