Animal lover who enjoys drinking good wine with good food in good company. Learning Japanese is my passion along with reading and cooking. Woke Democrat counting the days until the filth of the orange abomination is washed away.

If I have understood things correctly, the Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced at 5 a.m. my time. That means when I wake up, the bloated orange barbarian will be miserable knowing that he will never ever win. What a wonderful feeling to fall asleep to…

After more than a decade of that bloated orange barbarian, we are so overdue for some good news. I hope the upcoming election will be a reset so that the healing process can begin both at home and abroad. 🌊🌊🌊

It’s fascinating to see all the pro-life pseudo Christians clamoring for the death of Christa Pike. Such bloodthirsty hypocrites…..!

Voting is always frustrating. The incumbent Democrat in my Congressional district is strongly pro-choice but sadly also staunchly pro-Israel. I would never vote for a Republican obviously. So do I leave it blank, write in a candidate or vote for the Democrat? It pisses me off that this is my choice.

I just received my “Absentee Ballot Availability Notification for the 2026 General Election”! I’ll be filling that baby out tomorrow and it will feel great to be part of the big blue wave that is building. Check your voter registration to join in the fun!

Every year around this time, I watch a lot of videos about 9/11, especially the ones focused on the first responders. Thinking of those brave firefighters breaks my heart. So when that orange POS lied about his “rescue”, it made me madder than I can explain here. Will this lunacy ever end?

Has the @meidastouch.com ever apologized for platforming the sleazy Michael Cohen? He wasn’t just some guy they interviewed once. It was an ongoing relationship. Was there any mea culpa about their enthusiastic support of that slimy character? I haven’t watched their shows since the Cohen flip flop.

We just got back from 16 days in Japan, just such an amazing place. I was disappointed with my Japanese, I was able to get by in an N5-ish way but I should be better by now. I invested in some books and am going to do better next time. #Japanese

One of the lessons I’ve learned in Japan is that you have to stay in shape. I’ve seen people in their 80s climbing up Mount Inari or walking around Senso-ji at 5 am. I’ll be able to drag my ass over the finish line but I’m definitely going to change my lazy habits. #Japan

We’re on our very first Shinkansen hurtling towards Osaka, with our ekiben and Asahi. I miss Tokyo already but more adventures await! 😊 #Japan

The hardest part about leaving is saying goodbye to my beloved dog Phoebe and my kitty cats, Leo, Gigi Marie, and Ella Bella. It’s only for three weeks but I’ll miss them so much.

T-1……Japan here I come. The journey starts tomorrow, 8 hours to Paris and then 14 to Tokyo. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. After years of studying Japanese (I suck, I’m probably high N5 low N4) I’m finally going. I feel so lucky and grateful! I managed to pack for 3 weeks in that bag! #Japan

I bought 24 kilos of cat food in preparation for our trip to Japan. My five cats are now on a hunger strike because they hate the very expensive salmon variety. Here are three of my precious divas. #Cats

I went to grab a bottle of champagne out of the fridge and my husband told me not to take that particular bottle as he was saving it for when “ it” happens. You can all imagine what ‘it” is….😊

I can’t say I have a calm mind these days, I’m very much affected by what is going on in the US. On a positive note, we leave for Japan in three weeks, a dream of mine is about to come true.

We Americans maybe deserve what is happening to us due to our apathy and ignorance. Maybe it’s just a lost cause after all. From the Electoral College to the Supreme Court, with a little gerrymandering thrown in for good measure, I just don’t see how we can dig ourselves out.

I’m going down the Betty Broderick rabbit hole again. There are just some cases that stick with you. I think she deserved prison and seemed to remain remorseless to the end. She felt at peace knowing her husband and his new wife were gone. Was she inherently bad or pushed to a breaking point?

My life is so exciting, I just spent an hour researching magnetic spice racks. I don’t even recognize myself when I do shit like that. 😊

@cnn.com Why is Jennings allowed to drop f-bombs and still keep his job? I guess cursing while white and MAGA is acceptable. You’re trying to cater to people who watch Fox and your old viewers like me would never tune in now as you have abandoned truth.

Hubby and I have different names for our cats. My Gigi Marie he calls Raccoon, my Ella he calls Ice Pick and my Sky he calls Leave (he’s the latest rescue and hubby complains about the price of their food but it’s all for show). We call our other two cats, Leo and Pilot, by the same name. #Cats

I’ve lived in France for 35 years so I’ve seen a few strikes in my day. While it has been heartwarming to see the No Kings demonstrations, you have to be in the street every day to obtain some kind of a result. It’s hard, you lose money, but it’s the only way to go. #MayDay #GeneralStrike

I understand everyone has the right to express themselves but showing videos of emaciated dogs or any mistreated animal is too much for me. I love animals, have rescued many but I can’t bear to see those images. Instant block.

Am I the only one frantically refreshing the Virginia results? I know the rural votes are counted first but how can it even be close? Haven’t people noticed what goes on in Congress? Any normal person would want to remove as many Republicans as possible.

Democrats have got to start spending a lot of time and money in rural areas. How did we let Republicans out message us there? All they want to do is close hospitals, cut Medicaid, raise prices, start wars…. rural voters have been voting against their own interests for far too long.

What planet have those No voting counties in Virginia been living on? No matter how miserable the orange abomination has made their lives, they still vote red. I truly think the country is a lost cause.

It’s so weird to hear Nathalie Baye described as the star of Downtown Abbey in her obituary. She appeared in over 80 films, was a ten-time César (French Oscar) nominee, winning four times. She was an icon here in France. I guess that’s what she’s known for in the US. We lost one of the greats.

Would you call this a toad? This little fella shows up every day to eat some cat food. I’m so afraid of it I wait until it’s gone before going outside. Is that irrational?
