Me, sniffing suspiciously- they smell like scratch & sniff, do they taste like scratch & sniff? M- I'm not quite sure what they taste like. Me, taking a bite, chewing- I do not like this. Do not make me eat them. I do not like these. M is laughing at me. Me- I will not make you eat them either.

Me, taking a big swig of milk- I cannot get this taste out of my mouth. I will forgot dessert rather than eat these. M is still laughing at me as he hands me the rest of his.

The end result is that the Chinese Oreos in Crystal Grape & Honey Peach got tossed in the garbage because not even the wildlife needs to be subjected to *that*. Pity. The Blueberry & Raspberry ones were tasty as were the Matcha ones. Don't have high hopes for the White Peach Oolong ones now...😬

Mayhem is very happy we finally put the blinds up in the office, rearranged the plants and put an old flannel sheet on the top of the cubes as his bed. Took him all of 30 seconds to camp out on it. #cats

No, 'Audrey', I am not interested in an offer for my home, no matter how quick or hassle free. You couldn't afford what I'd want, in cash only. (What's the current National Debt again?)

Pulled into the carport and was greeted by a wee little face, which promptly started roaming back and forth, not staying still long enough to get a good shot... Silly Grey Fox. 😆 @kithrup.bsky.social #nativewildlife #GreyFox

This won’t be reported widely, but Jason Arday has been cleared of plagiarism for a second time. Still nobody has been held accountable for this man’s death.

UCU Edinburgh@ucuedinburgh.bsky.social

A reminder: Jason Arday was innocent. "A fresh investigation by scientific publisher Taylor & Francis has concluded without substantiating plagiarism allegations against Jason Arday, the former Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge."

Original Little Mermaid- she dies. Original Sleeping Beauty- she's raped & wakened that way. Original Rapunzel- sleeps with the knight who falls from the tower into thorns when the witch tricks him, is blinded, while she's cast out with their twins, to find him wandering in the desert. And so on-

Just look at The Witches, Something Wicked, the original Brothers Grimm fairy tales, even Coraline (which, annoyingly, must still be acknowledged in this particular field), among countless others, were all pretty fucked up!

Fairy tales weren't meant to be sweet and cozy. They were lessons to be learned (be good or else) or told by adults to other adults to shock, titillate or scandalize them. They were 'Disneyfied' for kids.

Turning to BlueSky to find a home for 9-month-old kitty, "Shoes", Baltimore/DC area. His rescuers would love to keep him but they and their toddler are all violently allergic; not even meds and air purifiers are helping. But they love Shoes and want him to find a good home. Deets: (1/5)

Over one thousand munchkins have already made their pledge for the Munchkin 5.5e RPG. If you're not one of them, what are you waiting for? There's never been a Munchkin experience like this before! bit.ly/munchkinrpg55e #playmunchkin #playsjgames #lynnvanderstudios

They have not moved all day. Must be nice. #cats (Anyone else having issues typing out alt text, wherein the cursor jumps and the words start getting spelled backwards when you go to edit/spelling correct?!? It's very annoying. *Just in alt text too!*)

Almost an entire generation of kids from this one village died. There was no justice. www.bgs.ac.uk/case-studies...

Sixty years, tomorrow. They gave the man in charge a knighthood. They made the local community pay for the remembrance garden. No-one held to account. I always think of the dinner lady, Nansi, who shielded five kids with her body and died in the process but they all lived. #Aberfan

So tired of people sending rude messages, demanding the changes they sent be made 'now, it's been a week already!' when I never got notification of said suggested changes. Also, that is how that surname is spelled, check out your own documentation that literally shows the exact same spelling. 🙄😒

My brother had to cash out both the retirement fund & the annuity my mom had, sell her house & cannot have above a set amount in her savings, in order for her to go to the Alzheimer's care place for the rest of her life. Definitely not spending that 'inaccessible capitol' on a bucket list.

The third piece I’ve read in as many days “concerned” that Americans are ”sitting on capital” that needs to be “freed up”. www.theatlantic.com/economy/2026...

It's so quick that it's hard to tell if this is a Hairy or a Downy Woodpecker, but the Eastern Bluebirds might have competition for the nest box. #birds

My backporch is now full of pepper plants. (10 of them, 5 varieties, M's rosebush and a blue African Daisy) So many blooms & tiny peppers on them, I couldn't leave any of them out there to potentially freeze tonight.

This took longer than it should have, because, despite knowing I did it once, I still managed to put *all* the brackets up, upside down & had to pull the screws out again. 😒 Curtains will get washed & put back up. If these don't fall down, I'll be happy. 😆 #home #FiveOaks

It's not that it turns out we live in a simulation, that we are all simulations, self-aware and thinking and feeling though we might be. It's not even that the simulation is shutting down. It's that it's shutting down because all the AI data centers we built use too much data. It's too stupid.

KITTEN ADOPTION KLAXON Gravy needs a home in the Baltimore/DC area ASAP, preferably one with other young cats. After the sudden death of her only sister, she really craves playtime with other kittens. Gravy is fully vaccinated and spayed, cuddly and playful, and learns what is ok and not ok fast.

Today is #Gaming day. And to be honest, it sounds like it'll be rhe last, due to changes in work & potential moving out of state. Still haven't broken that 'never found a group to play Spelljammer with' curse. 😒

Published in 1887 as part of Kawanabe Kyōsai’s monumental Kyōsai Gadan Gaihen (Kyōsai’s Treatise on Painting, External Volume), this woodblock print presents an observational study (shasei) capturing the varied postures, temperaments, and fleeting gestures of domestic cats (neko).
