A fantastic social weekend culminating in a fursuit swing dance lesson! Thank you thelindybird (IG) for a really fantastic night at The Ballroom Flock in SF!

We watched You Can See Everything last night. That is the wildest piece of cinema I've seen in a very, very long time. I strongly recommend seeing it in as crowded of a theater as you can get.

A few highlights from the last few days: A stop at Black Fox Coffee on the way back from NYC, a Vulfpeck show at the Greek in Berkeley. Next up: a visit to Forbidden Island for the local furry tiki meetup Paws In The Sand!

Actually not sure about this hotel bathroom. I took a soak in the dark, looked outside from the stainless steel tub, and suddenly vividly imagined myself stuck inside a front-load washing machine. And then I got agitated.

Solo business trips are always a little weird, but hey, it's not a bad hotel room and view of the city. Time to finally shower and relax! πŸ˜…

Red eye day! I was at home in San Jose at dinnertime yesterday. Four trains and a plane later, I'm here in Manhattan for a summit, and I'll be back home before the weekend. No autos: The only rubber I had between me and the ground were my shoes and the jet wheels. (Fine, maybe the jetways too.) πŸš«πŸš—

No BLFC for me this year - a work trip intervened, plus a few poor staffing/management experiences leave me feeling bad about the thought of going back even to just attend. I've talked to friends on staff, I know they're working on things, it's just... hard sometimes to push through those feelings.

Very grateful for friends to have a small surprise-party dinner last night, celebrating three (!) of our birthdays this week. πŸŽ‚

Thank you for the kind words <3 It's been quite a rollercoaster but I really do try to be good.

Happy birthday @wolfwithdances.bsky.social! I've known him for forever and he is one of the most dedicated, community-minded folks I know. We've known each other through a lot of life's twists and turns, and I'm happy to have him as a friend.

"Make Politics Sexy Again": Dem vet running for NY's 1st District, who previously modeled for Mr S Leather, rolls with it. ”’I mean, all my friends know I’m kinky’ as hell, he said, using a saltier word. ’I make Christian Grey look like amateur hour.’” Gift article: www.nytimes.com/2026/10/07/s...

nytimes.comBondage Photos Weren’t Part of the Campaign Plan (Gift Article)But Chris Gallant, a Black Hawk pilot and Democrat who is running to represent Long Island in Congress, is making the most of life post-tabloid reveal.

”The LaLota campaign did not directly address the images. And Gallant seemed to decide that the photos were a chance to show that a person in public life can contain multitudes.” Genuinely good on him. We all have social media histories, and his is that he has kinky fun with consenting adults.

This trip was a ton of fun, and the views were really beautiful. Definitely a thing I need more of in my life.

Fox's first backpacking trip! We hiked about 6 miles of the PCT at Ebbett's Pass, past Upper Kinney Lake. Windy as hell, but still super memorable.

This last few weeks has been tough work wise and somewhat tough friend wise. Built up some trust with some friends, lost a lot with others. Just hoping to find a way to feel safe.

Bike tire completely deflated and the sidewall shredded on the way home, right when all the local bike shops close. And the earlier part of the evening was substantially worse than that.

I've been trying to write a response to Gomi's post here... But there's just so much that I could say. I have been involved in cons long enough (10+ years!) that I feel like the burnout cycle is speeding up a bit, I'm seeing people tired after a third of the time I've spent doing it.

I've been thinking since I stepped down from FWA leadership about how much furry conventions have grown, and how much we now ask of the volunteers who keep them running. I decided to put those thoughts into words, and I'd appreciate it if you'd give them a read: gomi.gay/blog/26-09-0...

Was sitting at my desk at work and felt this gal crawling on my chin. 😬 (Noble false widow, as far as I can tell. She survived and is outside now.)

Replying to @rincewind.run

as a reminder, we’ve done this exact thing before under a Dem president, with a much better choice of renaming - should this one have been manually overridden too? the main problem is that we elected a dipshit and the dipshit has the power to order name changes in GNIS

Was lucky enough this weekend to be invited into a pool in rubber. I know it sounds easy but was quite a bucket list item, and admittedly I think I'm hooked. πŸ˜… Very very much looking forward to trying again sometime.
